Need a bit of perspective here, in terms of performance and points on the board, we are doing a hell of a lot better than i thought we would be doing by now.
We have a rookie manager who has been a breath of fresh air and a young team cheaply assembled, imo we are punching above our weight been mid table.
I can accept the odd performance like yesterday as long as we carry on trying to entertain and the manager learns by each game

Yeah I agree. I think we are doing ok. I do worry that when the pitches get heavier and the weather sets in we may not be able to play the same style. We will see.

It was a really poor performance on Saturday, probably the worst of the season.. off the back of an equally poor game against Chorley. It'll be a tough ask to get anything from Harrogate, but on a positive note they're coming into the game after the back of a FA Cup loss to Wrexham and a 2-0 away loss to Dagenham. So there's a possibility after all perhaps?

We need to solidify that backline, it's been a problem all season really - but Barnet really put it into perspective. I'm not a fan of Brian Wilson and especially next to Jones, who is not an out-and-out central defender, so hopefully change is made on Tuesday night. I would like to see Jameson given the opportunity, however I'm aware there's mixed reviews on him.. but right now, it's worth a go; until a suitable option is found to address the situation (we are crying out for a tall defender!) and Jameson is the only real choice we have, with Elsdon still injured.

I'm remaining positive. There's been a lot of reasons to be positive this season, despite gloomier recent times. After last season, I and many others still continued to travel to the likes of Torquay, Leyton Orient etc. to watch much drearier football and darker times. If I managed to survive that, I can certainly survive this! Evatt certainly won't take a performance like that and I have full confidence that the lads will deliver a much better display on Tuesday. If we get a result there, I'm sure this cloud of doubt will certainly be cleared. If not, we go again at Ebbsfleet. But for the time being, let's support the players and get behind them as we did last season throughout even the darkest of times, when relegation looked certain. I may be the only one to look on the bright side currently, but hey ho.

Very true. It'll be an interesting game with both teams coming in off the back of disappointing losses recently. A kick up the arse is needed, nobody can argue that.

We were awful. No plan B, not much of a plan A really...

I can only assume the team are forbidden by management from crossing the ball into the box, lost count of the amount of times a ball could have been played in and asked some different questions only for possession to be lost. It seems weird that we're so reluctant to cross the ball, given our persistence to have Dan Jones take every throw in the final third and ping it straight into the box, even if it means him coming half way across the pitch and costing us momentum. Why are we so scared to put it in from open play if we're so reliant on it from throws?

As I saw it yesterday the Jones throw was resorting to a desperate measure once we’d gone 2 down. Good point about getting the ball in, but I suppose the players need the confidence to believe someone stands a chance of getting on the end of it. If it’s done quickly, where players are on the move, and defenders tracking them, there’s a chance of something coming of it. If it’s just hurled in where players are fairly static, hoping to get a head on it, it’s easy to defend when us being small are up against (like yesterday) much taller defenders. Seems to me that if we continue to play like we have so far, there needs to be much more intelligent running off the ball from players who aren’t in possession. It was very difficult yesterday after conceding 2 relatively early (soft) goals. Barnet became understandly very efficient defensively.

great post ! and sums up my thoughts ! doing far better than I thought we would be personaly thought we would be bottom miles adrift but you cant not be happy after that dross last season ! its his 1st job ffks sake he doing well

If they are not careful they will entertain themselves right down into the relegation places. We have no one to win the battles. “ Win your individual battles and then we can play “...Shez told the players before every game! No point putting the ball in the box to our forwards , no height at all. As for the centre half situation, we get bullied nearly every game.... need to start putting ugly performances in and collecting points.
