Re: Photos of ground developments
There's plenty of memorabilia on the stairs leading to the bar. Framed shirts.
Is anyone really interested in looking at walls when in there? It is usually so crammed you can't see the walls anyway.
Talk to your mates and drink your pint.
A lot of hard work has gone into making it a decent environment. Let's just be happy with that.

Yes I know, I don’t mean wall to wall Barrow scarves draped over the bar and, old programmes pinned to the ceiling, but one or two really good quality images, Lifting the Trophy in 1990, 2010, some subtle blue lighting, that sort of stuff. It’s going to be great and I do appreciate it has to make money and appeal to a wider clientele, but I think it can still do that and still be recognised as the Barrow AFC function / bar, or whatever it’s being used for.
Just hope they ditch the glass topped tables- ...a bugger to clean!

Crossbar looks great. If anything I’d be using some of Ste’s canvas’s on the walls but can also understand if they don’t want anything at all to make it more attractive as a venue for christenings etc

Although I don't see it as a major issue, I do agree with Jonty on this.Jonty wrote: ↑Thu Jun 06, 2019 10:10 pm Yes I know, I don’t mean wall to wall Barrow scarves draped over the bar and, old programmes pinned to the ceiling, but one or two really good quality images, Lifting the Trophy in 1990, 2010, some subtle blue lighting, that sort of stuff. I was recently at a couple of meeting at The Kassam Stadium and they have numerous function and meeting rooms of various shapes and sizes. Throughout though there is enough to subtly remind you that you are at the home of Oxford United, it didn't detract at all from the quality of the venue and if anything actually added to it as it was a talking point on coffee breaks etc. between those in attendance (many of which were from outside Oxford). That is how it should be, the fact that it's a venue at the town's football club is a selling point if done properly not a negative.
As a side issue, the facilities at Oxford are a million miles away from what we could hope to have and extremely busy on a standard mid-week day. Considering they were quite recently a Conference club with us, it spoke volumes to me in terms of the difference between the big clubs like them and the rest of us in terms of professionalism and ability to bring in revenue outside of football.

Each to his own I suppose. I know I don't go out to gaze around walls to see what pictures they have up.

Wall seems to be flying up today.
Not a capman in sight for an update though

Wow, that wall has gone up quickly. Looks like they've done a good job of it too.

Re: Photos of ground developments
A few from earlier.
The wall is at the right height now so the end is in sight for that.
The ends of the terracing have been tidied up, the concrete will be levelled off and I suppose that’ll then be ready for the extendable players tunnel to be fit.
