So are Pompey and have richer owners than Bolton but have still not got out of Division 1 in the 3 seasons under the new owners so I wouldn't be so sure!Johnno wrote: ↑Tue Jun 23, 2020 8:03 pmQuite right, but for the level we're at, I'd consider us mega rich for this league.russell_anderson wrote: ↑Tue Jun 23, 2020 8:01 pm You are certainly miles away from being a mega-rich club.

Re: Ian Evatt
Bolton aren't "mega rich". There is a reason you've signed up a director of football whose biggest achievement is getting Macclesfield a new broadband deal or something. Salford are mega rich, but it means very little at this level if you're going to stick to FFP rules.Johnno wrote: ↑Tue Jun 23, 2020 8:03 pmQuite right, but for the level we're at, I'd consider us mega rich for this league.russell_anderson wrote: ↑Tue Jun 23, 2020 8:01 pm You are certainly miles away from being a mega-rich club.

Where did I say we were mega rich?, we're not, but for this level and for more than 2 thirds of clubs in this league we are.Moribund wrote: ↑Tue Jun 23, 2020 8:21 pmBolton aren't "mega rich". Literally in the post I responded to, you dunce. So what you mean is, your budget will be in the top 8 at League 2 level? Mansfield (and I suppose Salford) are proof that means nowt.Johnno wrote: ↑Tue Jun 23, 2020 8:24 pmWhere did I say we were mega rich?, we're not, but for this level and for more than 2 thirds of clubs in this league we are.Moribund wrote: ↑Tue Jun 23, 2020 8:21 pm

Re: Ian Evatt
Hmm, a recorded interview in which he was pointedly NOT asked about any interest from other clubs. Although IE did allude to the fact that success will attract admirers.
It all comes 'round again.
Re: Ian Evatt
Evo did sound a bit subdued, a lot of interviewing, we’ll just have to see how this unfolds.

"To achieve anything and to get to the Football League, we have to expect to win every game. I've got to get everyone believing that we can, and I will work hard to embed that mentality into the players, the town, the board and whoever else” Ian Evatt.
Re: Ian Evatt
Evo sounded absolutely knackered. Think the interviews are now getting a bit "samey". Will be good to start focusing on the EFL.Nigel Bamford wrote: ↑Tue Jun 23, 2020 8:32 pm Hmm, a recorded interview in which he was pointedly NOT asked about any interest from other clubs. Re: Ian Evatt
Then surely you can understand why we get all tetchy when your lot are coming on here banging on that's it's a done deal etcJohnno wrote: ↑Tue Jun 23, 2020 7:59 pmThis speculative bullshit about us having no money is beginning to wear thin, it's wishful thinking from tiny clubs that are trying to wind us up, it ain't working.philbrownstan wrote: ↑Tue Jun 23, 2020 7:44 pm They'd have to have enough money to get out of the country to do that
We are a bloody long time suffering & our perfect storm needs to continue for at least 1 more season, We have enough work to do getting the infrastructure on & off the field right for the EFL & don't need the Gaffer/Team unsettling or god forbid we have to find a replacement & can't bring players in until we do.
Re: Ian Evatt
They had Paul Hornby on early on who said he and Evatt were having a good laugh on the phone last night about the numerous clubs Evatt has been linked with-basically reading between the lines-he aint going anywhere yet and he's going to have a good shot at league two this season with Barrow.
This supposed Bolton fan is from around here, take no bloody notice-he is someone with a chip on his shoulder.

Your Chairman now spitting his dummy, and getting all angry about golden handcuffs, lol, sounds a desperate man the way he came across.
