Stretching the conspiracy theory a bit far...but we haven't lost a popular manager because he was wanting to distance himself from the scene when all the crap gets aired, have we??

Aye but they can still sign our players that will be out of contract next summer.
Quigley will still be under contract at the end of next season.

As for the others then we should not treat them as if they were gold bullion. We're in L2 now and the likes of Rooney or Angus or Hardcastle or Kay will have to prove themselves at a higher level. A decent manager will supplement them with players that are just as good and in some cases maybe a bit better. Then you can compare how well they fare.

What this 2 year embargo gives us is time to evaluate these players during next season and if they do cut the mustard to get their contracts extended without Evatt breathing down their necks. If they dont wish to extend then it also does gives us the opportunity to obtain a fee for them before their contracts expire and they simply walk to the Macron. If they are poor then Bolton probably wont want them anyway.
Presumably a lot of the players that signed new contracts will also have extension clauses if they play 20/25/30 games. So it's not just Quigley this blocks him from signing.

Also, is it Bolton that can't sign them or Evatt? He'll be at another club before the end of the season.

Good luck to Evatt for the future (except against Barrow, naturally) and thanks for all that has been achieved with some style these last two years.

We now move on. (Those spreading rumour and innuendo, please take note.)

Well done to the owners who have handled the departure professionally and achieved a great result for BAFC. Paul Hornby's radio interview immediately after the news became official showed great class (those spreading... etc.) and a determination on the part of the owners to continue to succeed.

His news about a possible successor having already been identified and approached was most welcome.

Does it matter? We’ve got what we wanted for him and then some for his back room staff (or that’s how it comes across anyway). Dirty tactics by Bolton and proves that IE doesn’t have any loyalty. Make sure we beat them twice this season to show him what he’s given up for 20,000 empty seats

If he went to meet with them at any point, why would he need to see the stadium? He's played there plenty of times.

Presumably the board signing a confidentiality agreement on the cash they received means that Bolton don't want to let it get out that they've paid big money?

Aye last season John Colman questioned whether it was right some clubs got to play the BWFC youth team and were effectively handed 3 points and others like Accy wouldn't get to play them till after they'd be allowed to sign proper players he got the dogs abuse [ including from the manager apparently ] including threats about when he visited Horwich.

His answer was just to post the date of the first game.

On that day I saw a team given an absolute hiding [ if it had been 12 they couldn't have complained ] When he was asked about it he just smiled and put his fingers to his lips.

Now that's what you call class and believe me i.m looking forward to Barrow doing exactly the same.

Oh and by the way, despite being such a massive club 20 minutes down the road they failed to sell out the 2600 allocation they were given

Opened that with caution, someone sent me a link before which had Evatt in a pose that Shez would be proud of.

A thread on a Bolton manager should, indeed, be in general football. Sort it out mods
