I've noticed that we always seem to name six substitutes when we're allowed seven. Obviously you can only use three so it isn't a problem. But it got me thinking, is the reason, we've got that many injuries; we haven't got seven fit players or is it to save money. I'd imagine if someone like Penfold was named as a sub, he'd receive a bonus payment.

Club Developed Players. Subject to Regulation 33.12 each Club shall be required to nominate at least one Club Developed Player on their Squad List on each occasion that it is due for submission, or on their Team Sheet of Players for all League Competition Matches (including Play Off Matches). Where any Club does not name a Club Developed Player on the Team Sheet, that Club will only be permitted to name up to six substitutes on that League Team Sheet (rather than the seven as permitted by Regulation 33.4).

Boyliegladbach thanks for that on second thoughts I seem to recall Salford had similar issues last season.

Harrogate have also only had 6 on the bench in their 2 opening league matches.
