Think we will get someone in before the Port Vale game?

He’s only 1/5 not 1/15

I think all this discussion is inevitable, but people have to realise certain managers fit certain clubs. Just because someone had success at one club doesn’t mean he will be successful at his next club. For a manager to succeed, everything has to be right at that moment in time, club infrastructures, the right players capable of playing the managers way, the mentality of the players and staff, and as important as anything, you need the breaks to go your way.

Just listened to this podcast with the current bookies favourite Micheal Jolley.
Comes across well, dare I say it, a bit like Ian Evatt!
Could be a good fit.

And? I'm talking about the way he comes across and talks about the game. Most Grimsby fans were very upset about him leaving. Think I'd be happy with his appointment.

I'd be surprised as with Christmas in a couple of days it might be too much to do before players travel to Vale so if anything maybe appointed for Tranmere match or straight after it so he has a few days before Exeter game on the 2nd and transfer window open

Been reading the Grimsby Forum.
Firstly I like listening to Holloway but think he is at the end of his career.
Apparently he is supposed to have said on Twitter he was going no where just over a week ago
Fans point out he managed to work with Oystons at Blackpool and now says he cannot work with new owners, apparently he was friends with people selling Grimsby.
Grimsby are in trouble and he is jumping ship.
People point to the fact that he was Evatts mentor, not necessarily a good thing.
We need someone with a good track record not just a name.
David Flitcroft on the face of it seems to have a good track record with previous clubs

I agree that Holloway is probably past his best now. His achievements with Blackpool were tremendous but since taking Crystal Palace up in 2013 his record has been poor.
I think Flitcroft or Jolley would be a good choice.

I know Rob Kelly said he did want the job but if he can continue to get them playing like they did against Cheltenham why the hurry to appoint anyone else, maybe he could be persuaded to change his mind.

My thoughts, too. I fear that Ian Holloway is living on his occasional reputation. When you look at his career, resignations and threatened resignations (for altruisitic reasons or not) never seem to be far behind. Interestingly, at one time he was thought to be in for the Leicester job but was looked over in favour of...Rob Kelly!
Don't let the old man in.
