No point focussing on points targets. This is not a normal season. Southends result tonight whilst brilliant (for them) is not quite a shocking as it seems if you look at the quality of their recent performances and just accept the fact that if you turn up and play the gap between best and worst is just not that great. For those who might think nothing much has been achieved in the last 24 hours. its worth remembering that 24 hours ago the distance between the bottom three and fourth bottom was 9-12 points. 24 hours later its 6-9 points. Hence the reason why Colchester have ejected their manager.

If you look at the bottom half of L2, Leyton Orient, Mansfield and Colchester haven't won in 5 (Colchester winless run I think is 13). Oldham, Crawley, and Walsall one win in 5. I did suggest also that Southend, Grimsby and Barrow might actually have an effect on each other if they started winning and that might close the gap.

Theres no point however suggesting that we can afford to discount the Bolton game on Saturday. They may be the form team with 4 wins out of 5 but look closely at who they've beaten in those games, Scunthorpe, Southend, Mansfield and Stevenage, not the cream of the division by any means. Every point should and can be fought for with the attitude shown last night. Anything is possible.

This league proves time & again that anyone can beat anyone on the day & if play the 90 mins at Bolton exactly if not slightly better than the Oldham game we could just shock Bolton on Saturday, Wouldnt that be very satisfying
