Quiggs wants to leave (for whatever reason) - Money grabbing liar who falls over too much and doesn't pass.

This forum is [SwearFilter] weird. I stand by my original statement, thanks for everything Scott. If you moved for the money good on you, it's a short career; make the most of it.
Yes this. After seeing who his agent is I think we all should know by now who’s engineered this move (and yes obviously Quigs could have refused)
Yep, the Evatt, Rooney, Dior Angus agent involved again and turned Quigs head. Credit to the board for not buckling to wage demands.
We should get used to selling players too, in interviews with Paul Hornby and Tony Shearer you hear then talk about a 'sustainable models' for clubs at this level. Well that includes selling players for profit that have done well for us.

As much as I really like Scott I am afraid this stinks more than just a little and it comes as no surprise to see everybody’s favourite agent (especially Mr Hornbys) at the centre of it all.
Remember when it was said on here by someone that Scott had been refusing to train / play - where have we heard that line before ... when Rooney left and who was his agent probably telling him what to say etc ... Whiston.
As people have said, clearly the closer to home thing is nonsense and knowing it worked for JR has been used as a means of getting out. He is obviously moving for the cash which I can understand totally, however, like with JR it seems to show a lack of ambition but would also possibly seem to suggest he didn’t fancy working under Cooper although I would think Steve Whiston had started engineering this a fair old while ago and maybe even before Cooper was even announced.
I genuinely thought with Cooper and the new additions - especially Zanzala playing alongside Quigs, we would have done well this season, I still do for that matter. By Scott why oh why throw your lot in with that pillock of an agent.
Good luck to him as he’s clearly a good guy, perhaps badly advised but a a decent bloke. As for Steve Whiston ... he can just go screw himself.

And for what it’s worth I don’t think Whiston was / is his agent as I don’t think he had one but rather he has allowed this guy to turn his head and engineer this for him whilst pocketing a no doubt sizeable wedge for himself.

Well someone needs to pay for Whistons hair transplant.

Jamille Matt from FGR will fit the bill

Really fed up now.Liked Quigley thought he one of the really honest players and was genuine in his interview near end season about the fans etc when we made our great escape. It’s all very well being a nice club but we seem to be targeted by so called bigger clubs a bit too easily .Can see why more money and less travelling are an attraction but as we can’t move the club we must be firm over offers made and get the maximum we can for players. All very well being nice cos of their good service but at end of day they have been paid for that.Rooney tarnished his reputation here with manner of exit and now I feel the same disappointment.Evatt obviously was going higher so although was gutted could quite understand.Enjoy your time at Stockport Scott but hope club don’t get promoted .

There’s no such thing as loyalty in football and now this proves that honesty also doesn’t exist. He’s been excellent for us, but don’t come out with that bull shit Quigley, be honest. If someone offers me another £20 grand a year to my job I’d be off too, but I would tell people the truth, and would not throw somebody passing, into the excuse.

What was the profitable transfer fee for the sale of Quigley? Apologies if this has already been mentioned.

as it's undisclosed nobody knows - but one can assume it's the rumoured £150k clause in his contract.... but assuming anything in football isn't wise at the best of times.

I doubt its 150 you have to think totally dependant on the situation but if its similar to Rooney its offset off a lad sat at home making thousands over a season so we lose money week on week. Or get rid and cut loses for a lower selling price. I hope it is the 150 like you have said but I would nt be holding my breath the undisclosed fee suggest otherwise

If our club make decisions like you envisage then we'll be in the National league pretty soon!

Not really we have far greater monies coming in from the league and sponsorships , what do you do force someone to stay who is potentially refusing to play and pay them thousands a week or cut a bit off a loss on the selling fee that you would have still made had he stayed and refused to play? The worst thing is too keep a player that does nt want to be here and the knock on effects that can cause. But with all this financial fair play knocking around can a team like stockport throw 150 000 at a player? And keep within the regulations?

No less than 46 pages on the Quigley thread on Wrexhams' Red Passion all based on a rumour. Makes our forum seem tame.

I don't mean that it just opens doors for anyone to leave us ,if they think that we're an easy touch sometimes you have to play "Hardball " to gain respect whatever that takes!

I agree to a point, but if another club comes offering more money and the player has no loyalty to the club, what in all honesty can you do.
