Re: Quigley Replacement?
We have hopefully just had our biggest ever transfer fee as a club add Evatt and Rooney to it why cant we go and buy someone as a statement off intent and before anyone goes we lost x amount what did the owners say clean slate next season a fresh with fans back re budgetSuffolk Blue wrote: ↑Mon Jul 19, 2021 8:22 pm Should have signed Matt last year. Understand he has a year on his contract at FGR. I can certainly see the logic and he may work well with MC. But a transfer fee? Not so sure.

correct,I remember it well.
Re: Quigley Replacement?
People going on about the Rooney money forget this the money will have spent.
We should not forget that these owners are financing the club from their own pockets and have been open.
The fact that things have gone quiet says alot, it's not a criticism .
Furlough payments are reduced from August further reducing incomes,so hopefully games will give us some more income.
We need a replacement for Quigley but he was a asset, the trick is to find another free Quigley.
It's about a balancing act if we get it wrong the consequences will not be good.

"We need a replacement for Quigley"......If he isn't replaced, it could be the difference between top seven and struggling to avoid relegation.Pedro wrote: ↑Tue Jul 20, 2021 7:35 am People going on about the Rooney money forget this the money will have spent.

18 months of no fans and you think we still have the money for Rooney and Evatt.
Lost £800,000 last season with that money

Re: Quigley Replacement?
Like Luke James and risk getting relegated and losing all the money brought in from being in the football league? You sensibly invest in a striker that can score goals you dont need to break the bank but if a fee is needed it has to be done. We cannot rely on one man to keep us up like last year we where lucky last year. We have one more year off ground improvements to bring us in line within the football league standards for the ground. Imagine putting all that money in to go back down beggars belief. But folk want to risk it by hinging replacing a key player id even go as far as saying critical player. With a free player which there wont be many if any left in the position Quigley played and to the level too which he played. How did the free lads go replacing Rooney last year…folk must remember for the first few years we will lose money but then over time the loses should taper off any business has to invest coin and look at how neglected the ground was. Once at compliance id imagine we wont be spending on the ground again for a while. And thats where a hell off a lot off money has been pumped in. Offset crowds being back ect the loss will be substantially lower. But I dont think folk understand just how good Quigs and the influence he had massive and it needs replacing.Pedro wrote: ↑Tue Jul 20, 2021 7:35 am People going on about the Rooney money forget this the money will have spent.

Get it sorted now and go into the new season with confidence-not trepidation.
Re: Quigley Replacement?
Correct - one more summer of ground improvements to retain place in League.
I know. Let's go for a striker that might allow a promotion challenge and run the risk of being thrown out of the League again, this time for a non-compliant ground.
Good financial wisdom, that.

Re: Quigley Replacement?
Last time I looked we were about 850 seats short of been compliant.
Re: Quigley Replacement?
Indeed.
Re: Quigley Replacement?
Whatever happened to the 'something a little bit special' that PH said could be in line for those extra seats by the way? Never heard anymore about what that may have been!whitty1969 wrote: ↑Tue Jul 20, 2021 9:17 am Last time I looked we were about 850 seats short of been compliant.

Probably because he`ll be doing his due diligance , lots to consider, design, how will it impact surroundings, closing road etc, cost -best value etc, timescale needed , planning permission absolutely lots of things to consider ( i`m sure matty bassdriver could enlighten us ).GazzaT wrote: ↑Tue Jul 20, 2021 2:05 pmWhatever happened to the 'something a little bit special' that PH said could be in line for those extra seats by the way?
