Neither more nor less relevant than yours or mine. He has kindly volunteered to act as a conduit between supporters and club.

If you have contacted him already to express your view he will undoubtedly take that into account in discussions with his contact(s) at the club.
This is a issue that will affect the elderly and lower income people and you are right we should all have a view.
I had assumed it was the Chris Altree who was the Labour PCC and wanting people to vote for him.

If this a example of what he will do if elected its not promising and that comes from a Labour voter of 50 years.
I've dealt with Hutton and Woodcock both ticked the boxes while treading water and doing little .
I've dealt with Albert Booth when I was on the Executive ,apart from his CND activities he was a good constituency MP just in the wrong town.

If it's another Chris Altree sorry .
Not sure why my politics has been brought into question Pedro? I don't make the decisions on how the club is run that is for the board/owners to do. The SLO role was created by the EFL so that fans could have someone to message, contact/ speak to who would then pass on their messages to the board. For those wanting to contact me you can email slo@barrowafc.com, if on twitter DM the SLO account or speak to me on matchdays as many of you do.

I will say again the board are fans of this club too and they are only doing what they think is best for the club sometimes supporters won't always agree with the decisions.

What's the point of having a cash gate. Who determines who uses it .it would be rammed and a queue a me long
That's why there should be more than one.

I take your point but I think the more tech savvy would prefer to print out a ticket as you get through the gate a lot faster.

When I got there on Saturday there was nobody waiting at the gate and I was through in less than 10 seconds, but you also HAVE to cater for those who don't have the technology.

Why can't the office sell tickets for cash from say 1.00 pm onwards on a Saturday or 6.00 pm on Tuesdays?

If these dinosaurs are true supporters they will make an effort and learn how to use a debit card .come on it's not rocket science. Personally I think cashless is the way to go the same as other efl clubs

Like you, I am switched on to debit cards etc but I think you need to remember that some older people (and some not so old) don't trust or want to deal with banks.

If you want to keep some of the loyal fans that have supported the club throughout the years the club needs to show some compassion. Opening the office two hours before kick off would give the 'dinosaurs' as you call them the chance to continue supporting the club.

Do you mean other efl clubs like Carlisle with their 3 cash outlets or the many others that wouldn't dream of turning paying customers away on a game day?

I don't think anyone is saying that for the majority a cashless system isn't appropriate, however for some older/young fans or potentially lower income families this is a genuine barrier to attending.

It's appears to me that stubbornness is now the driver, as I can see no logical reason not to have at least 1 cash facility available to purchase a ticket on a match day, after all you can pay this way on none match days.
If we were selling out every weekend you could argue what's the point in accommodating these groups, but with one of the lowest gates in the efl we should be looking to make it as easy as possible to attend and not isolating certain groups.

I'd be interested to know the thoughts of the decision makers given the recent examples where people have had to pay others in or where some have decided not to come altogether, assume this wasn't the intention, as Chris says we don't always have to agree but it would be interesting to hear a rationale that addresses the reality that is impacting, maybe time for a ceo update.

The Board of Directors made the decision, and then changed it a little when us fans started to ask why the hurry? Will they listen and change it a bit more?

When the decision directly affects the fans then there should have been at least some fan consultation to gauge opinion- ie- through the Trust. That is what the Trust is for right? To take fan opinion on board and to carry it forward to the decision makers. It seems this was introduced with no consultation with fan groups. The club could have listened to fans and recognised not all fans are ready for cashless and maintained one cash option to buy tickets at the ground and an option to still make small purchases with cash.
"To achieve anything and to get to the Football League, we have to expect to win every game. I've got to get everyone believing that we can, and I will work hard to embed that mentality into the players, the town, the board and whoever else” Ian Evatt.

You mention dinosaurs but that’s a very dinosaur view I’m afraid. It’s not about not learning how to use a debit card it’s the fact some might not have them, or people have the right to not want to use them.
everyone is entitled to their opinion, deal with it

Another point being elderly people might not like walking around with a debit card in case it is lost. Easily done. Someone lost a set of house keys on Sat so a card wouldn't be hard to lose and let's face it with this ridiculous contactless waving business a finder could have a good time until the card was cancelled.

Spot on.
'And', it tells you everything about the character of him that refers to some people as being dinosaurs.

Equally they could lose their wallet or purse containing all their cash.

Well said! I have no problem with cashless payments or using a card or the internet. However, like yourself, I have sympathy for those who are struggling with the new cashless policy. I'm afraid the club seem to be losing touch with the backbone of their support since re-entering the Football League. I've followed the club since 1968 and throughout our Non-League days and it does seem like the club is demonstrating a lack of compassion towards many of their fans. Also, some of the members on this Forum, the member known as 'barrow-mike' being just one example.

There's an old saying: 'Be nice to those you meet on the way up because you will meet them on the way down'.
The club would do well to bear this in mind.

Non-League football is just one division below us.

In that case, all the more reason to have more than one cash gate. But I suspect that if there were queues, many of those who are able to pay by alternative methods would do so to avoid the queues. So hopefully we could get away with just one.

You aren't liable for any criminal spending on a lost/stolen card, providing you report the loss immediately. The same cannot be said for cash!

The attendance last night at Exeter game somewhat dents the argument on here that less people will attend because of the no cash policy on tkts on the day.
