'The Cumbrian club had two keepers among their substitutes, with player-coach James Taylor one of three available outfield substitutes'. NWEM.

IMHO, he should stick to his singing and song-writing....

'Second half we ran out of steam. The boys are running on empty'. - Mark Cooper

Whoa Nellie!

You mean to tell me this professional team is not fit enough to play for both halves of a game?

If so, we have real problems.

Neither the Brough nor the Hutton crosses were shown both of which were decent goal-scoring opportunities (if we had a striker who could read play). The highlights are usually fairly well balanced but these are very one-sided.
Don't let the old man in.

Could not believe that we ran out of steam just another pathetic excuse from the manager, watching that second half we all knew a goal was coming from Forest Green and when it did, game over, many of the team last night were Cooper`s signings and again many players on contract until summer 2023 so how do we get rid of them without paying them off, what players would forum members like to get rid of.

2 great crosses but useless if, as usual, no forward with the instinct to get anywhere near them.

Cooper inherited most of the squad. How many has he signed?
Gotts, Stevens, Hutton, Grayson and Gordon. Wasn’t Zanzala already on his way to us anyway?

Edit: Ellis & Williams Cooper signings to

Yeah I heard that and thought the same, professional athletes who have had 2 full days rest since Saturday, can’t run around for 90 minutes ? Wtf, always thought Cooper had been honest but when the excuses start, he must know he’ll be in trouble, especially if we’re in this position by Christmas on a top ten budget. Unrelated but I see Dunn and Grayson have been sacked from Fleetewood.

From the starting team last night Hutton, Grayson, Gotts and Gordon were Cooper era signings IIRC. Farman and Zanzala were already in place to sign before he took over (or had been announced as signed)

Just watched the post match interview. I dont think he’s looking for an excuse for the defeat last night. I thought it was a fair post match assessment of the game. He knows the better side came through to win it second half.

He is in a position to be able to compare both clubs from the inside and he recognises that FGR have an infrastructure in place that has helped them get to the top of the table. It not been an overnight success story, they have had a few seasons to establish themselves and become accustomed to operating as a league club. Its an example of a smaller club at this level, coming up from non league and now seeing some success on the pitch.
Top 10 playing budget we may have, but at this time we are very much getting used to being a league club and finding our feet in the modern game at this level. it is a key point he’s making here. Whether its him, or the next manager or the manager in 10 years. If we are going to establish ourselves at this level then we can’t grow as a club on a top 10 budget alone. The one thing about Cooper is that he has never once used any of the non league, “big step up” talk and i think he is quite open in his assessment of performances and where we are as a club.
Still searching for the Young Soul Rebels

Helps when FGR owner is a multi millionaire, it’ll take time to have any type of infrastructure like they have

Keep the faith we will be fine I believe Cooper is the man to see us out of this bad run we are in.
I am just glad the bad run is now and not at the end of the season.
Plenty time to turn it round into a top 10 finish

and part of the problem is right there! which experts at our club decided on Zanzala ? same ones that decided on Luke James this kind of decision making shouldn't happen in a so called professional set up ,we have to be more astute in the way we make decisions look at how Jolley was appointed!
