I did not like the Cooper appointment mine was Nigel Clough but he seems to want to stick with Midlands.
Think Brown should stay he managed to get a disorganised team organised I did panic after the first results.
Give him a year's contract with a proviso if he gets us promoted it will be extended.
He is Northern based but will have contacts across the country.
Does not seem to get knocked down easily.
I thought he talks the talk let's see if he can walk the walk.
Makes no excuses and thinks we should keep training near by.
It's important a decision is made asap to allow him to decide who his targets are and who he will let go.

He does live near Oxford. I think training in or near Barrow every day would be a bad move. As an example, Hutton lives in the midlands. To train each day he will have a round trip of about 150 miles. To Barrow it’s a round trip of about 350 miles. He has a partner and a young child. Only an example, but not an attractive proposition to do all the training at Barrow. Irrespective of being a L2 club I think training in Barrow every day would put some players off.
I have totally changed my opinion of Brown, and eat humble pie. He has changed a lacklustre team into a very decent outfit. Most importantly he has kept us up. I would be happy to see him rewarded with a contract for next season. Not quite as simple as that, as he may have other options in the sense of other clubs could be interested, and it’s not a given that if he was offered the job, he would take it.

Once again the board have made the right call and kept us up eventually. We learn as we go on but how do we ensure that we aren’t in another relegation battle next season?

On and off the pitch there clearly needs to be developments.
Some of the things that have crossed my mind?

1) As a squad, we seem to have a group of players that have shown they can do the job when required. My worry is that some players are judged on their contributions of the last three games rather than over the full season. A goal scorer is a must but we all know that comes at a cost. Are the rumours true that Platt (and others) already agreed pre contract terms at other clubs? If so, they’ll obviously need replacing.

2) The stadium needs further work and again that will come at a cost. Has it been decided where the extra seats will go? Are the changing rooms up to scratch? How does the away end become less of an embarrassment? How do we upgrade basics that make the game more enjoyable to entice more fans?

3) I assume that the academy is now a goer and the club will receive funding for this from the EFL? Do they pay it all or is there a further cost to the club? Where are they playing, I hope the rumours about Kendal are not true. How many are local players, how many from away? Will they be given an opportunity to train with the first team and will the first team manager be asked to watch their games?

4) Community. How do we extend the community work done to get more fans in? Can we target outlying areas in South Lakes? Can we build to 3500 regularly next season - small, consistent gains? Will meet the manager and training sessions be regular, not just at the start of their reign? How do we get relationships with local clubs and leagues - try to avoid fixture clashes? Local finals played at HS for kids have again been stopped I’ve heard when they used to always be there.

5) Training ground. What’s the situation? Is that solved long term? What can be done to entice new players?

6)Fanzone - how is this maximised on non match days? Can we get a manager to oversee events like the raiders have? There’s a music event coming up.

7) Season tickets - Freeze the price or raise? Early bird offer? Link discounts to more local businesses or events. Can something be combined with the raiders - a dual season ticket?

Dear me FFS gave our board some credit They`re not stupid apart from recruitment ( which they`re slowly learning ) They are doing a fantastic job we`ve just achieved mission impossible give it a rest!

what happens now? - well;-
1) we should enjoy the next 2 weeks...
2) after the final game (and not before please) we start speculating about which players will be retained and which released.
3) we all speculate as to whether Phil Brown will be manager next season.
4) the actual retained list comes out and we all say xxx shouldn't have been released or xxxx shouldn't have been kept.
5) similar on the manager decision
6) we speculate on new signings;- someone mentions Messi, Ronaldo, Andy Cook, Wayne Curtis and Jason Walker....
7) we sign some ex Carlisle player who might or might not turn out to be any good. Then sign other players including at least 1 who has played for the manager before and at least 1 that no-one has ever heard of.

As mentioned in the post, these are things that have crossed my mind. Some are ongoing issues which we could do with sorting to move forward, others are things I haven’t heard a great deal about for a while, others are how I think we could move forward as a club and stabilise as a football league club.

Surely, a forum is a place to discuss these things amongst fellow fans?

The last 2 seasons we have played some truly awful football. Boring depressing truly horrible to watch. However we have survived and can look forward to another season in the league.
So what now you ask?
Keep Phil Brown. Let him decide the retained list and have a say in recruitment. Continue to improve the ground. Play football that is attractive to the paying customer (me)

Lastly learn how to be ruthless against teams at the bottom of the league

Everthing you state is or has been discussed by Paul Hornby , so YOU are more or less telling them what they already know a lot of what you want takes major investment they (the board ) are alread going to spend vast ammounts on new seating !Most has been discussed on here , If yoy don`t like the progress send them (the club ) an email or join the trust and put yourself up for election to the board !
