I suppose why people are saying 50 points is, as you've proved, you get that total it's a stone-walled certainty that you won't get relegated. Any manager and. team will obviously aim as high as they can, not just to get to a figure that avoids relegation. As we found out last season you start worrying about that towards the end of the season when you are flirting with danger!
It's all ifs and buts in football but if we had done better in our previous 5 games we would still be in the play-offs, and it won't take much for us to get back there.
I think it must be a Barrow trait to be negative, but at this time an air of positivity is needed, on and off the field!

Canavan has been excellent for the majority of the season you’re correct, the chance Waters had, that you’re referring too was extremely difficult to be fair. 2 points I will make, I though the crowd was far higher than announced and what the hells wrong with the scoreboard, anyone.

Regarding the scoreboard apparently they have converted the scoreboard meter to accept the new King Charles 50p piece so as soon as they go into full circulation they will be back up and running.

What summed this game up was ( I think I'm right) near the end the linesman ( near to the stand) flagged for offside, we then took the free kick in their half ,you couldn't make it up !

As well as the ref stopping the game when their left-back slipped early on in the game when we were on the attack! Could've possibly scored and been a turning point in the game that. Terrible refereeing decision.

Yes. Definitely remain positive and supportive, despite currently the worst form team in the league!!

They used the head injury ruling to their advantage several times, a good and sensible rule but open to abuse. If a player/team use that then they should have to go off to be examined by a doctor for a set amount of time, that should stop the “head injury” when it suits stupidity.
A rule brought in to help players and this is what happens.

Completely agree. The rule is abused in almost every match from Premier League to EFL 2.

He could have let that phase of play continue as we had a chance in on goal. Low and behold the player didn’t even leave the pitch for treatment. Got up, rubbed his head then the ref gave them the ball. I want to see our players protest these decisions- we just get on with it.

Another good chance was a second half counter attack led by Whitfield with Bennett in space and yelling at him to put it in front of him but Whitfield kept hold of the ball and got pushed wider and the chance was gone. Decision making. Bennett had lost his marker.

What I will say is a special mention to our keeper on his EFL debut. Rochdale won a free kick late on in the game out on the right, great delivery in and both teams just watched it bounce, without Moloney being on his toes to get a slight touch to push it round the post that ball was destined for the top right hand corner of our goal.

You're so right, Cuffy. I thought it was a decent save at the time but having watched it back I'll upgrade from "decent" to "magnificent". It was an evil ball curling in diagonally just over the heads of a ruck of players and bouncing towards the top corner. Great reaction by Moloney to paw that wicked delivery around the post. He has to be pleased with that on his debut, saving us from likely defeat.

Apparently the referee was the designated fourth official Simon Mather. Scott Oldham the original referee appointed had taken ill and could not attend.
