Leyton Orient

Post by ossickbluebird » Fri Jan 13, 2023 7:43 am

Comatosed at work so thought I'd start this weeks match thread but after last week's game tomorrow could be anything!!
They aren't scoring as freely as they were and if we play the full game with the confidence we showed in the 2nd half last week, could definitely turn them over. But after saying that their the strongest team I've seen at HS this season so gonna go 1-1. Oh well, back to the drudgery.

They brushed us aside at Holker St, looked a very good team. The on form Barrow can beat anyone in this league so Leyton Orient 1-3 Barrow
Just say no to VAR :sentoff:

The teams were 1st and 2nd in the league when they met at Holker Street.
Barrow dominated for the first half hour and at the end of the game had more attempts and shots on goal than their opponents.
However it's goals that count and we need to be more clinical in front of goal like at Mansfield last Saturday.
Josh Kay's late sending off didn't help the club particularly as it resulted in a 6 game ban.
I would be happy with a draw and think it is achievable.

Right tactics, right attitude and a Mansfield second half rather than a Stevenage 90 minutes. All that and we could be making headlines by 5pm on Sat.Orient have problems in the heart of their defence with most of their CB's injured or suspended. Against Donny last week they fielded two makeshift lads who defended for their lives but according to one forum poster ' were let off by a lightweight Donny attack who spared them any high ball action' He went on to say ' Barrow have a 6'4" striker who will surely put them under more pressure'. They have so far unsuccesfully been trying to bring in replacements. Be happy with a point. Any more would be a massive bonus.

There is no reason why the Bluebirds cannot beat Orient if they show the same attacking form as in the second half against Mansfield. We can go to toe with them .We just need to make our shots on goal count, cut out the silly mistakes and defend their set pieces.Come on the Bluebirds.Onwards and upwards. :scarf: :scarf:

The key is no silly defensive errors. We made two at Mansfield then got away with it when we decided to play our own brand of quick passing football. L2 is the league of errors remember.

Not sure which game you watched, cos they certainly didn’t brush us aside. There a big , organised team, that do there job, on our day we could beat anyone in this league, I’d be more than happy with a point, but they are excellent at home, so……..

We huffed and we puffed but I think we could have played another hour without scoring

Hopefully come away with a point. Tough ask when they have a 8 foot cat for a goal keeper

Those living abroad who want to watch the match will have to register on the Leyton Orient site, as they don't use iFollow, but their own TV service.
