For all things Barrow AFC. Keep discussions civil and fair, we're all Barrow aren't we!

Carlisle looked like a team who will be promoted. They had a touch of 'Class' about them. Apart from Whitfield and Brough we don't have any. We looked devoid of confidence with players pulling out of tackles and passes going astray. I expect us to be mid table by the end of the season - which isn't a bad thing compared to the last two ;)

I was upset by the two commentators last night. Both seemed biased against Barrow. Think they knew it too - one suggested to his buddy that their Barrovian colleagues (at Radio Cumbria) would be just the same - this was after one of them had reprimanded the other for speaking harshly about The Bluebirds. One of the comments claimed that Carlisle had put us "firmly in our box" - aluding to the notion that they consider Barrow AFC to be the lesser of the two clubs in Cumbria.

The way those commentaors spoke - and the reaction of their fans at the final whistle - would have made neutrals think that Carlisle considered the defeat of little 'ol Barrow to be a massive scalp!

Onwards & Upwards :D
Not interested in Cumbria references.. We are Lancashire. Barrow is in Lancashire. It says so on my birth certificate. Cant change history.Tories turned Barrow into Cumbria to get them political votes. Tried to rob us of our past.

Our club obviously leans towards Lancashire due to the Red Rose on the club badge. When we were 'administered' into Cumbria there was an opportunity to forsake the Red Rose. It remains to this day :D

Well, well, well, I'll go to the foot of our stairs . . .

I opened this thread to see what further comments had been added following the Carlisle disappointment last week but things seem to have digressed tangentially into another universe altogether. I must assume I have lost the plot with this thread. The last few pages have left me more bemused and befuddled than Roger Thornhill must have been when he found himself stranded at the junction of Corcoran/Garces with only a killer crop-duster for company.

All I can say in answer to the question above is that I'll continue (as I've always done) to send my letter to Santa Claus, c/o The North Pole. I have no idea whether the county boundaries have changed up in that neck of the woods but at the end of the day it's never failed me yet and I always manage to wake up on Christmas morning with a bulging sack.
