Purely suggesting names here but Joshua Umerah at Hartlepool has scored 15 (all comps) in a poor team. 6’1 so could ideally get onto some crosses.

Yep he preferred it to feet. I wasn’t really thinking of Quigley but the number of decent balls into the box we see and our players are a yard behind the ball. Crewe game was crying out for that no nonsense forward who can just anticipate the ball coming in, work himself some room and get onto it. At one point against Crewe, Robbie Gotts was the man in the middle of the box and the ball was just going over his head, despite his best efforts. A modern day Cowps- but today’s game doesn’t have these players and not very often do you see headed goals from wide deliveries in open play. That sort of player would suit our style.

I think when you play the number of long balls and crosses that we and most other L2 teams do it's imperative that you have someone up there who can compete in the air, Josh Gordon does well for his size but is about half a foot smaller than most centre halves. Moyo and Bennett didn't work so I'd have thought a decent 'bigman' would be top of our list. Quigley would be an improvement on what we have but not sure we should go back I think he's probably had his best days and we should be looking for someone younger who may go higher, not someone going the other way. Wasn't great in the air no but his size and presence unsettled defenders.
Not easy to find but I'm sure there is someone out there who fits the bill. It's a funny one because most people want a big 9 upfront but at the same time want us playing Barcelona football rather than being direct and we need to be somewhere in between and have options.

Add a centre half, ballwinner in midfield and someone who can get on it pass and that's probably our weak areas covered. There'll be a few heading out too Ellis, Grayson and if we can offload Bennett and Moyo then that should free up some money.
