As we saw last season. Who would have expected us to finish 9th? Both fans and the team need some PMA.Methuselah wrote: ↑Sat Aug 05, 2023 12:22 am Please have faith,we may not have the biggest budget in the league but upsets have been created in the past.

Re: Where Will We Finish ?
FORZA BLUEBIRDS, good to be back, hope everyone had a good summer.
Will be happy with 9th or 10th and a good cup run, so important for us to stay in this league so if it takes a few more years before a promotion push, then i’m Okay with that. But hey a Wembley play off final would be a nice way to end the season!
Bluebird per sempre.

Re: Where Will We Finish ?
I worry about our defence. Maybe totally wrong but it doesn't look as strong as last season. Remember when McClelland got his injuries mid season we struggled. Hope I'm proved wrong. Think Tranmere game will be a good early indicator of where we are at the present time. As Wild continually states we have a lot of early away season games this season we need to see where we are in late autumn to really judge this team.

Re: Where Will We Finish ?
We look like we can score more goals this season - so I’m expecting an improvement on last year’s position ! Downside is that defensively we don’t seem to be as strong - hope that’s not the case . Cmon Barra Soccer !!
Re: Where Will We Finish ?
Play offs would be fantastic, but finishing Mid table with a coupla scalps against the big timers would maintain our progress and prove last season wasn’t a one off.
Just in play-offs or higher to mid table 7th-12th
He’ll have them defending from the front with a high workrate

Re: Where Will We Finish ?
1st
Win the first 15 games
Have a wobble
Finish strong
Title wrapped up at Easter
Major investment in the club and new 10,000 seat stadium built ready for championship
Either that or we lose the first 4 games and doom and gloom merchants wet the bed and talk of we will never score another goal or win another game

No higher than 7th no lower than 11th - I expect this post to be shown again at the end of the season.

Second or Third for me but every game now will be a battle it’s ours to lose. Home games, the lads need us more than ever we’ve got an important role to get them over the line. It’s easy supporting a team when there’re winning not so when things are tougher. Tomorrow will be yet another pressure game for the lads but it’s incumbent on us to be as one with PW and the lads I’ll even get the stand singing, It’s been a slog and we’ve earned the right to be where we are. We need a twelfth man (sorry person) out there where are YOU

Re: Where Will We Finish ?
15 cup finals left now. If we’ve taken 6 points by this time next Monday I’ll be very optimistic. Saw something on twitter about the ppg of the teams in league two and it’s the highest it’s been in ages, Which goes to show anyone can take points from anyone in this league. Every team has a wobble at some point hopefully we’ve got it out of our system now
Re: Where Will We Finish ?
75 points made it to the playoffs last year (77 the year before). This would mean 22 points in 15 games. Pete's 1.5 points per game would achieve this.
Northampton finished 3rd on 83 points last year(80 the year before). This would mean 30 points in 15 games (2ppg).
I know the ppg are high but just trying to gauge against previous seasons.

Re: Where Will We Finish ?
Without stating the obvious home form will dictate where we end up, if we can win the majority of those we'd have a slight chance of sneaking in the autos come the end of the season.
To ensure we get a playoff place minimum we will need to improve on our run of form since Boxing Day. Form like 2 wins, 3 draws and 3 defeats won't get us there, anyone down to Accrington in the table will be looking at a charge towards the playoffs over the last third of the season.

Popular side since '03.

We should go into the final stretch of the season full of confidence. Every game left we can get something from.
Starting with a great chance to go back third tomorrow night.
UTB!
