FORZA BLUEBIRDS, yes a little bit vexed by this, was coming over for this fixture, flights booked, good job l didn’t book rail ticket. Anyway Newport away will have be a poor substitute, let’s hope l get to see them win. Bluebird per sempre.

Thank god I'd not bought the match tickets or booked accommodation anywhere in the area.

Barrow will make a loss now as a local derby on a weekend has been postponed for some wet Tuesday evening I can't and some others won't be able to make it up for. Won't see Barrow at home, for me, till late October now. Great.

Surely the rescheduling of the Morecambe match should be between Barrow AFC and the FA,because as has already been said Barrow were only instructed of the cancellation.
I would like to suggest that an extra Saturday match should be added onto the end of the season. At least the weather would be better than a wet and windy Tuesday night and there would be a bigger crowd at Holker St.
You can suggest but it won't get anywhere

Let's be bloody honest it's 4th Division Football and know way should a game be called off because
Fringe/on loan players get called up it's going to cost the club thousands with another 4,000 gate and corporate sold really a good kicking for the club, and how the hell aren't the EFL compensating clubs like been said Morecambe won't be a penny worse off.

Well said. Would have been interesting to know if Morecambe had taken the same stance if they were at home. I very much doubt it.

Think storm in a tea cup the rules are the rules until altered.
When i heard about postponement I was worried it was financial reasons with Morecambe
We can wait bigger things happening in the world

The league will not be decided on this result

I’m sort of with Pedro on this. The various scenarios that might play out would’ve been considered by the EFL before the rule was made. And there isn’t a rule out there that hasn’t been bent by someone.

Truth is these rules are made primarily for the benefit of top tier clubs. It’s when they come to be applied further down the food chain that the flaws appear.

Morecambe’s problems are certainly not imaginary. They’ve done well so far but don’t let that fool you. They do have problems with resources. I’m sure they are playing the system as far as they can.

Barrow would have done exactly the same if they had 4 players called up for International duty.

Good luck to them all but this isn't Morecambe's fault. It's the FA who decide to select so late in the day.

If Barrow was potentially missing 4 first team players for any game due to International call ups would they not take the opportunity to have the game called off?

Too right they would.

Morecambe's management team have done well season in season out to bring on board players who have international aspirations.

Bit of jealously ?????

They’re right though, if we were missing a load of players for internationals we’d use that rule too.

And as for the ‘lack of notice’ chat…..when should squads be picked for games in September - June?

Now 5 squad players called up for under 21 duties.

So even more justification for EFL calling game off although the lateness in notification of players being called up is annoying for both clubs.
