Who do we want in round 2?

For all things Barrow AFC. Keep discussions civil and fair, we're all Barrow aren't we!

If it’s the pub you are referring to, isn’t it called the Flower Pot?
I think Peter got his condiments muddled as it definitely cut the mustard last visit. 😁

Or even the Flower Pot.

Didn’t think I’d be reactivating this login again.

Think this is a good draw for us despite the long distance involved.Know the ground well as kent my old stomping ground.People who go by car be warned it’s the county town parking is horrendous. They had high ambitions a few seasons ago the chairman since left had a bit of unsavoury reputation I understand.Since then he left firm I believe called Gallaghers took over May have been builders did a lot of work new ground and the revenue increased believe hired pitch out did well but have been on slide last few seasons. Will be good home support and vocal cos a break from their indifferent season.Could be a banana skin cos of artificial pitch but maybe we have them at our training ground to practise on.?If we
Keep our discipline in the game a victory is well within our grasp.

Realise that Maidstone is a very long way from Barrow. But if you think of it in terms of being offered 68k to go and defeat a team that is two leagues below you and also create the prospect of a serious third round opponent then you’d have to say that this is a decent draw.

I would suspect that PW is pretty happy with it.

Are you confusing us with Paul Scally at Gillingham? Still the same owners who rescued us and built the ground several years before we met in the league. They did try to sell but it fell through. Gallagher still a main sponsor, but no interest in owning the club. Have made a surplus ten years running, which is quite an achievement at this level. You would have thrashed us last season, but George Elokobi has done a good job rebuilding the squad. So we have a chance, but expecting a tough test from you.

Oh, dear. Don't like the sound of that. A team who hasn't being beaten in 11 will be tough opposition - from any league. I'd take a draw - bring em to Holker Street... :D

Charlton currently struggling at home against Cray Valley Paper Mills. 1-1 after 80 mins. You can’t rely on an easy fixture against lower league opponents.

As previously said lowest ranked home team, potential banana skin beating a league team, be on the box

I can,t see the plastic pitch being a problem.Don,t iur team sometimes train on one in Manchester.I think Pete Wild will have that one covered. The only drawback I can see is the distance the supporters have to travel which might reduce the numbers which can go.Any further south and we would be playing on the beach Let's just hope we get through to the magic third round.

Yes, artificial pitch to add to the mix.
The boys train on a 3G pitch, so they will be used to it.

Just a note for those fantastic supporters who make the trips, irrespective of the distance. Colchester away, the week before, almost identical 660 mile round trip, if anyone does both, I’ll build a statue.
