Yeah there's nothing worse than having a long journey after a defeat, feel sorry for the board £60,00 thrown away plus possible tv money and a big club away !HenneysKnee wrote: ↑Sat Dec 02, 2023 5:12 pm Very disappointing; even more so after taking the lead. Hope the journey home isn’t too awful for all those who’ve travelled, horror of an away day

Only the player's can answer that one let's see how Pete Wild sees it!Lancaster Branch wrote: ↑Sat Dec 02, 2023 5:15 pmI didn’t get the sense we were complacent. Didn’t play to our best but we didn’t have a cigar on. The second was a goal of the season according to their X.
We got done, fair and square.
Onward.

The game wasn't televised as it was considered it would be too one-sided, it WAS, in favour of Maidstone!

Yeah, as I remember at this years qna, they mentioned the fact that Grimsby got a million quid from getting to the 4th round. Presume we can’t maintain our financial losses year on year out and 60k would have been handy for the club, just wasn’t to be.blue nige wrote: ↑Sat Dec 02, 2023 5:17 pmYeah there's nothing worse than having a long journey after a defeat, feel sorry for the board £60,00 thrown away plus possible tv money and a big club away !HenneysKnee wrote: ↑Sat Dec 02, 2023 5:12 pm Very disappointing; even more so after taking the lead. Well done to Maidstone who were the under dogs.
A club having to reform sounds they are well organised.
Listening to the game they sounded the better team.
Always remember my Dad and Mam . listening to the boxing. My Dad would say the Cuban will win I said why , because he is hungry.
The defeat will serve as a warning and hopefully spurs us on in the league.

Felt like we were struggling to adapt when things weren’t working. Everything getting crossed to the right to create set pieces, but Maidstone kept shutting us down. So many good runs up the left in the second half, crossed over, didn’t go anywhere, rinse, repeat.

Had a really bad feeling about this game when the draw was made. Don't know why you don't want to play these teams on plastic surfaces however much we might train on one! Having a great day as my CH boiler is busted and its beginning to snow in Greater Manchester and this result. Am expecting United to be thumped Newcastle as well. So its good night from me!

That’s life recover and carry on to the next game, I would only feel it was disastrous if the defeat saw us out of the league. As for getting beat in the cup we have been there before particularly when Runcorn beat us at home. I think they were at least two leagues below us if not more.
Hope Maidstone get a good draw.

All I've got to say about that performance was - EMBARRASSING.
No effort, commitment, idea. Didn't win any 2nd ball all game. Not a single shot in 2nd half.
Long way to travel to watch that Sh***e.

Yes, it was bad enough listening to it. Very tedious. Safe journey back home to those who travelled.
