And will that be an extra charge on top of monthly Sky subscription?MisterPleasant wrote: ↑Sun Apr 14, 2024 7:26 pm But you will not be able (domestically) to watch on a per game basis as you can now. You will have to be a Sky or Now monthly subscriber.

Re: I follow
Thanks, that seems to have changed. Earlier indications were that it would only be available on monthly subscription so good news (even if it is 20% more!)Main Stand SeasonTct wrote: ↑Sun Apr 14, 2024 7:34 pmNowTV do a day pass current price £11.99MisterPleasant wrote: ↑Sun Apr 14, 2024 7:26 pm But you will not be able (domestically) to watch on a per game basis as you can now. But 100% more cameras!
I have been pleasantly surprised how good the iFollow coverage with just one camera has been. To be fair, at Holker Street I only watch from a single location anyway...

Re: I follow
Even if you have a Sky subscription the games will not be shown live in the UK because of the EFL rule. There is also no guarantee that your club of choice will even be shown by Sky even when you can legally watch it as now happens on a weekday. This deal does sweet FA for the loyal football supporters and only lines the pockets of a greedy conglomerate.I would suggest that we all get a dodgy stick and give Barrow AFC £10 every time you watch one of their games.
Re: I follow
If selected, 1089 EFL games will be shown live in the UK outside the existing 'Saturday rule'.
Five L2 or L2 games will be shown outside that window each Saturday. An extended notice period will be given to avoid late notification of kick-off time changes.
A total of 248 L2 matches will be shown, five of which will be play-off games and one might assume c60 are Saturday selections, leaving around 185. All else being equal, How many non-Saturday L2 fixtures are there?
Barrow will have featured in c16 non-Saturday L2 games this season so c185 might be a reasonable total. Not too great a mismatch from the current situation then.
These are top of my head figures. Perhaps somebody will count the calendar dates and assess my assumptions?
As for _This deal does sweet FA for the loyal football supporters_, how wrong can you be? It puts the best part of a billion pounds over five years into their clubs. (You realise the EFL is 'the clubs'?) Along with the then-proposed EPL deal, it was said by the majority owner at the Q&A to be of enormous benefit to Barrow. Self-interest from some of the larger EPL clubs is leading to a stand-off at present over the latter deal. A favourable resolution, perhaps by government intervention, will be essential to enable survival for all EFL clubs next season.
'Dodgy' or modified devices do nothing for clubs. Pious hopes that users unwilling to subscribe to matches will donate to clubs are just that - pious hopes.

Re: I follow
What it will do for football supporters including us is inconvenience them with the KO times for tv games. Friday nights? Saturday at 12.30 or 5.30 or Monday nights. Potentially nearly one third of our games will KO to suit tv.Hadrian wrote: ↑Mon Apr 15, 2024 9:18 am If selected, 1089 EFL games will be shown live in the UK outside the existing 'Saturday rule'.

It will also effect Season Ticket sales if people don't know kick off times and dates of matches, that's what lower football isn't about and don't forget about away games being changed for TV, but who cares about proper football supporters the joys of the EFL.

Re: I follow
There is a way to see Saturday games now - home or away, and that is to subscribe to a Virtual Private Network. Do that, change the country, and then go to the club website and pay in the normal way. I am told that this is not illegal, whereas 'dodgy sticks' are, and the club benefits from people who can't get to a game, for whatever reason.

Re: I follow
Have to agree with the.above comment. If you don,t have Sky and only want to watch our games is the club going to give us prior notice of when the games are going to be on so I can buy a one match subscription instead of having to pay for a package I don,t really want? Also another point, let's just say we are playing a Southern team on the other side of London and Sky switch the broadcast time to 12.30 how do they expect people from this end of the country with poor transport links to get there in time for the kick off unless they set off just after midnight. How much of that money is actually going to come to Barrow. If it was going to be split equally between every club in the EFL it would be a good deal but you can bet it will be graduated depending how far up.the divisions you are as a club,so the clubs that are fairly well placed financially will end up being the winners in this deal whereas the ones in the lower reaches will always be the poor relations.Football is for the masses not just for those with the deepest pockets.

And another thing...
With iFollow the club receives the £10 less tax and admin. Who will get the £11.99 paid to NOW TV?

Re: I follow
I can't see us making much from IFollow . The winners with Ifollow were the clubs with the biggest fan base. This deal does appear financially to be more fair to EFL clubs than IFollow was.MisterPleasant wrote: ↑Mon Apr 15, 2024 11:36 am And another thing...With iFollow the club receives the £10 less tax and admin. Re: I follow
Excluding playoffs, the season covers 9 full months more or less (Aug-Apr), so let's call that 39 Saturdays. Two of those are reserved for the 1st and 2nd round of the FA Cup, and we don't play Easter Saturday, so that leaves 36. There are also 4 (I think) international weeks where the Saturday TV rule doesn't apply so in theory no need to move kickoffs - afaik there's no guarantee they won't (same with Good Friday, Boxing Day, etc), but I'll assume here that games stay at 3pm on those Saturdays. So that leaves 32 Saturdays where 5 L1 and L2 games will be moved.Hadrian wrote: ↑Mon Apr 15, 2024 9:18 am If selected, 1089 EFL games will be shown live in the UK outside the existing 'Saturday rule'.

Assuming all 48 clubs are picked for these games evenly then each club would be picked 6 or 7 times (32 weeks x 10 teams / 48 clubs = 6.67 picks per club). Obviously it'll be Sheffield Wednesday/Birmingham, Wrexham and Salford every week though, so our share will likely be lower!

Re: I follow
Below is taken from the EFL website
The new deal includes an agreement that there is a more equal spread of club picks
Championship clubs will be live approximately 23 times per season
League One and League Two clubs will be live approximately 16 times per season
The objective has been to apply more balance and certainty to broadcast selections

Re: I follow
Like I have already said if I buy a Now TV pass on a weekday when Barrow are playing only to find that Sky have decided not to show the game, can I then claim a refund. At the moment when I pay to watch Barrow on I F ollow I get to watch the match I pay for not some random match that Sky select. As I don,t have Sky how am I going to know whether or not our match is going to be shown? Will.we be given notification by the club?As lifetime supporter I only want to watch my own club, thats why I think I Follow was better for people who do not have Sky.

Re: I follow
Could be wrong but I have a slight suspicion that the games shown live by Sky will be listed somewhere rather than you just buying a daily pass and hoping for the best
