Understood. Blood was boiling a bit last night as I’d been out from 7.30 - 9.30 and wanted to catch up by listening to the close of the show. And my radio is DAB so unless in car I can’t access MW ; DAB Plus (whatever that is) keeps being mentioned but I can’t work out what/ where that is : the main frequencies , DAB and FM are allocated to Carlisle , it seems which I think, seems unfair. No criticism of you Adam -

Passing first have and the movement from the team was excellent, second half we fought like hell, defended with passion and some proper tackles went in, all brilliant to see and a taste of what is to come from Whing.
Bearing in mind, we are now only playing for pride, last night deserves a hell of a lot of credit because in the nit to distance past, we would have rolled and had a bellies tickled.
So from a disappointing season to a very hopeful future, can't ask for more than that.

Never mind playing for pride. I want a top half finish and AW will as well.olbarrafancumbak wrote: ↑Wed Mar 26, 2025 8:19 am Passing first have and the movement from the team was excellent, second half we fought like hell, defended with passion and some proper tackles went in, all brilliant to see and a taste of what is to come from Whing.

Yes they hit the bar 3/4 times but the simple fact is when the ball hits the bar its as close to being out as it is to being in.

If we win all our remaining games, we could finish on 72 points.
Warsaw currently top with 70 points, Bratfud on 69 and Wombles on 64.....
Automatics are mathematically possible.....

Take a bow Paul Farman.

It was a great win, but sitting deep with little outlet brings it on top for the defence.
Form over last 5 shows that on our day we can compete with any side in this division. Consistency is key.
Let’s hope we can keep it going and have strong end to the season with a top half finish and positive goal difference.

"To achieve anything and to get to the Football League, we have to expect to win every game. I've got to get everyone believing that we can, and I will work hard to embed that mentality into the players, the town, the board and whoever else” Ian Evatt.

Agree Jonty, momentum is key just look at Carlisle and their mega bucks.Jonty wrote: ↑Wed Mar 26, 2025 11:36 am It was a great win, but sitting deep with little outlet brings it on top for the defence.

I thought Whingys analysis from last night was spot on, even with the win he wasn’t truly happy with certain things in other words he’s no bullshitter and says it as it really is. I’m already buzzing for next season.
Re: Port Vale FC v Barrow AFC (A) match thread
Such a strange, strange season, this! Back in the early part of the campaign we hit top spot and played some great football. Then we plunged into an abyss so bad that it was hard to see where the next goal or point would come from - - - and that continued until only recently when we dropped into despair by losing against our Cumbrian 'neighbours'.
The bleak mid-winter was threatening to continue into a potentially fatal Spring and then all of a sudden we take 11 points from the last 15, those eleven points including away-points at three top sides in Notts County, Wimbledon and Port Vale. I mean, look at the two at the top, Walsall and Bradford City; are they averaging 2 points per game over the season? No. Yet we emerge from the dark side to average more than 2 points per game across these last five tough fixtures. So, once again, although it's returned late in the season, we are once more providing top-of-the-table form. We can but hope it continues into August, September, October, November, December, January, February, March, April and May of next season.

DAB has been superceded by DAB+ which we are on along with AM (crap!)blumooncrab wrote: ↑Wed Mar 26, 2025 7:57 am Understood. You need to buy a radio capable of receiving DAB+ which is what I had to do (think it was about £15 at ASDA)
Carlisle are on FM and Freeview

I thought your coverage of the game was brilliant Adam.Hopefully going forward you can split frequencies right through the game.It makes for a better listen than swapping back and forth.Adam29 wrote: ↑Wed Mar 26, 2025 1:46 amWe did our reaction after the gameblumooncrab wrote: ↑Tue Mar 25, 2025 10:06 pm Amazing. A minor irritated whisper on sheep station , from James Partridge and one short text read out. Carlisle City got more coverage after the end of the Carlisle Utd relegation fest . Not happy about that .
With it being a 7:30 kick off and their game being 7:45 we split frequencies at 7 and both went right through till the end of our respective games
I had no Carlisle coverage on my show and vice versa on James’
Then I went and recorded the post match interviews pitch side to go on social media - as said during commentary and during build up and when I finished to hand back.
