Just having L2 stability will not increase the attendances that much. Apart from the Premier League and maybe a few in the Championship, every club are dependant on them doing well to get better crowds. Although I think we can get that average up to over 3500, anything past that is going to hard unless we are pushing for promotion!behind the goals wrote: ↑Fri May 30, 2025 8:48 pm Hopefully we can better last Season`s average home gate of 3,038 would be a good start, but agree just staying in league 2 must be our target every Season until someone else comes in to help, if not it will only get harder for the Club to maintain our EFL Status.

Re: Big question.
Our average home attendance, including of course away fans, was 3,381 last season down from 3,804 from the 23/24 campaign. 3,804 was our highest average since returning to the league. More matches on Sky, plus the Carlisle game being moved to a Thursday night didn’t help. This season’s challenge will be League Two isn’t as northern based.
Re: Big question.
Away fan numbers will be down. Once they’ve ticked off HS and then announced it as the worst away view in the league many don’t return. We need more home fans through the turnstiles.FanzoneFan wrote: ↑Sat May 31, 2025 9:29 am Our average home attendance, including of course away fans, was 3,381 last season down from 3,804 from the 23/24 campaign. 3,804 was our highest average since returning to the league. Re: Big question.
I think we have around 3000 hard core home fans and that’s probably double what we had in our two seasons under Ian Evatt. If we are doing well the floating fans can boost that to over 3500 and for a big game over 4000. I do think the novelty of being back in the EFL has worn off for some hence the drop in home support last season.Jonty wrote: ↑Sat May 31, 2025 10:11 amAway fan numbers will be down. Re: Big question.
I think the bad run of results after the Chelsea game had a lot to do with the drop in attendances
Just say no to VAR

Re: Big question.
You need ambition and more people in the town on board. You do that in part by building some infrastructure. There is very little. If you think and behave small that’s all you ever will be.
The games being on sky more is a massive opportunity to build the club and increase advertising revenue other clubs seem to be much better at doing this than us. Many of the things the club does is so half arsed.
Hopefully the club can attract some real investment to keep us moving up. The club should strive to be as high as it can get. Barrow is a booming town with lots of investment going in - it’s a great place and has lots to offer - if only the people of Barrow believed that the sky really would be the limit for the club and the town

Re: Big question.
Agree. New signing today, and if that’s the official merch scarf they've got that wrong. So I had a look on the official club shop site. Dear me, It’s either the worst online club shop, or worst range of official merchandise I have ever seen. Father’s day soon and nothing in there, unless of course you want last seasons away goal keeper socks. Sorry to be critical but it’s exactly in line with your second paragraph above.Bingo wrote: ↑Mon Jun 02, 2025 9:31 pm You need ambition and more people in the town on board. Maybe on some ranges yes, kit, training wear etc, but generally, it’s a woeful range beyond the kit. You think about the global reach the club is trying to achieve and capitalise on.

Re: Big question.
I’ve always wondered what happened to the teaming up with “Terrace” to expand and improve the range on offer to supporters?

Re: Big question.
Easy way to increase crowds…..win games
Re: Big question.
I think that was a one season deal. The thing is, if you want a Barrow AFC mug, take your pick….but none of it is official merchandise. You can buy a wide range of Barrow AFC items online shopping. The club is losing out because of this.Main Stand SeasonTct wrote: ↑Tue Jun 03, 2025 9:38 amI’ve always wondered what happened to the teaming up with “Terrace” to expand and improve the range on offer to supporters?

Barrow Afc beach towels please
Re: Big question.
Do you think there could be an opportunity for the club to benefit from the “once in a lifetime” £200m regeneration fund coming to Barrow over the next 10 years?Bingo wrote: ↑Mon Jun 02, 2025 9:31 pm You need ambition and more people in the town on board. Re: Big question.
I would hope that the boards of both Barrow Raiders and Barrow AFC have made representations to those that hold the keys to the purse of that fund to se if that's possible. Even a "match funding" deal would be better than nothing. If you don't ask you don't get.Jonty wrote: ↑Sat Jun 14, 2025 1:34 pmDo you think there could be an opportunity for the club to benefit from the “once in a lifetime” £200m regeneration fund coming to Barrow over the next 10 years?Bingo wrote: ↑Mon Jun 02, 2025 9:31 pm You need ambition and more people in the town on board.
