Josh Gordon
Re: Josh Gordon
With JG and Ben Whitfield back in Barrow shirts, we’ve suddenly got more options up front, so let’s hope he can regain his goal scoring. He’s the last Barrow player to get into double figures, thats how poor we've been in front of goal.
If he’s match fit I think he’ll be straight into the side on Saturday.

Not sure about this.
Signing players who wanted away and who flopped after leaving us.
Stinks of desperation.
How did Bennett returning work out?
Please slag me off if wrong but looks a bad move

What’s happened to Kerr Smith - Central defender on loan from Huddersfield I think. Didn’t he come on at Harrogate as a sub ?Main Stand SeasonTct wrote: ↑Mon Sep 01, 2025 8:57 pmJacko is more than capable of playing Right back he is just as strong on his left foot as his right and Shipley can play anywhere on the left in defence including left back._bluebird_ wrote: ↑Mon Sep 01, 2025 8:43 pm
My thoughts too. Gives absolutely no option for a plan b. 4-4-1 would have been much more balanced saturday. Few cb injuries and we are in trouble
As for CB we have five capable of playing there. Canavan, Raglan, MJ , Foley and Shipley
Re: Josh Gordon
Signed another player for the one position we already have too many as we only play 1 up top.
Smacks of bodies in for the sake of numbers.......a right back would have been better imo.
Unless we're changing formation............and putting round pegs in round holes.

Re: Josh Gordon
Not sure about this one. Did well for us before and can’t question his work rate or attitude, but hasn’t done much since and was nowhere near the Walsall team. Not an area I’d have prioritised either over right back which leaves a free agent in that position as our only hope now.
Surely we need to try offload a couple too Mahoney and Kouyate would be first on my list.

Jacko is more than capable of playing Right back he is just as strong on his left foot as his right and Shipley can play anywhere on the left in defence including left back.

Re: Josh Gordon
The 'Barrow Index' must be good. Signs players we've already had all time! I was never the greatest lover of Josh Gordon first time round. He has scored 2 goal since leaving us in 2 years. Our recruitment continues to baffle....

Re: Josh Gordon
A desperate sighting IMO but if they wanted to bring one in finances will have dictated. It being a loan we will only be paying a percentage of his wage.

I’m thinking that you are probably right. It is opportunistic at best, but desperate at worst. Does not bode well for our prospects IMO. No joined up thinking here that I can see.Main Stand SeasonTct wrote: ↑Tue Sep 02, 2025 8:44 amA desperate sighting IMO but if they wanted to bring one in finances will have dictated. I’m presuming we still have to cover the wages of the loan players that have gone back to their clubs injured. Healey and Adu-Poku.Main Stand SeasonTct wrote: ↑Tue Sep 02, 2025 8:44 amA desperate sighting IMO but if they wanted to bring one in finances will have dictated. Feel disloyal saying this but feel slightly underwhelmed,Understand finances must be stretched but think defence needs strengthening first At least we would get points with draws.Injury crises so early in season has not helped .Seem to be going backwards signing former players at moment.Hope I am totally wrong and Josh and Ben have great time with us.Hope his discipline has improved as Josh picked up a ffew cards I recall.

His disciplinary record wasn't that bad at Barrow Ann.liverpoolann wrote: ↑Tue Sep 02, 2025 9:22 am Feel disloyal saying this but feel slightly underwhelmed,Understand finances must be stretched but think defence needs strengthening first At least we would get points with draws.Injury crises so early in season has not helped .Seem to be going backwards signing former players at moment.Hope I am totally wrong and Josh and Ben have great time with us.Hope his discipline has improved as Josh picked up a ffew cards I recall.
7 bookings in both seasons with us and no sending off's is actually quite good.
One thing about Josh, he has pace and closes players down.
We only need Billy Waters back now for the best front 3 since returning to the football league.
