The kind of performance that we saw a bit more towards the end of last season in particular port vale away.
Hits NOH there I would say.

One of the wettest days*** I can recall at HS and that is saying something. But through the grim misery we could all leave at the end with big smiles on our faces.

Think the wettest day is when we were last in the league playing Bristol Rovers, there were large puddles all over the pitch the ball would float in them would not be allowed now.

I remember one getting called off mid game. I'm sure we were one up against kettering at the time. It was a night match if I remember correctly, the weather was horrific

Chelmsford comes to mind during our first season back in the league regards bad conditions - one of only three - I think - home games when supporters were allowed to attend. Won 3-0 and Chelmsford went up as champions.

Presumably Cheltenham?

On the subject of Cheltenham their manager has been sacked tonight, and there is a concern they may be too detached before they invest in January after a takeover.

Great result today, definitely think the conditions helped us but who cares. Would like to see Cameron and Gordon up front together for a spell. Definitely need a few lads back from injury / suspension etc then theres a fight for places. 2 massive games coming up now - Crawley away then Shrewsbury at home. Both below us in the league so 6 points and we push away from.the bottom 2

Good result in that weather they had no choice to run around.

Good win but that is all it is. Let’s see some consistency now

The difference that makes to the defence and going forward was plain to see.
Can we just put Booty out on loan as soon as possible now please.
It will take time for Booty to settle. He might have flourished today in a more controlled midfield. Don’t write him off.
He s the reason we haven't been able to assert any control. He,s not ready for this level as the previous games have proved.
He doesn't even look as if he can achieve the fitness levels to play at this level.
If we weren't struggling with so many injuries he would be out on loan already. We certainty cant keep playing him in the hope he might settle one day.
With the squad we,ve got every player needs to slot into that team and give 100% We don't have the luxury of a B team where players can find thier way and settle down.
MJ Williams performance v Crewe is the standard . He was excellent from start to finish. He dove the team forward, protected the defence and lead by example.
Booty is no where near that standard.

I seem to remember that when the Lad (Booty) landed here from Gateshead, we were told in an interview with a Gateshead sports journalist that he was a league 2 'ready' player, and had been for two years!

The problem i had with the signing of Booty was that at the age of 27 he had no football league experience. All his football had been played at National league or lower. He has without doubt found the step up to league 2 difficult.

I don't think his age is important but he has come into what is a poor team ATM and only a few are playing to the standard. I think he needs a bit of time to settle into a fully available squad then we'll see where we are with him. Last season our midfield were replaced during games a lot so we need readily available replacements esp to change games. He might not be a starter but I think he has a part to play. Once squad is fully fit (thats hoping) I do believe the squad will start to gel like the end of last season after AW had time to get his style of play across. My only gripe is scoring goals but thats always been a problem at Barrow so we need others like Fletcher yesterday to chip in more.

Let's face facts it certainly is going to have to be a shared responsibility scoring if we're going to stay in this league as I can't see any of our current strikeforce getting into double figures. My main cause of concern is our ball retention. It's basically non-existent. Too many times there's no one available in a bit of space to receive a simple forward pass in midfield and we end up with an aimless lofted ball into the corners. It's never a good option especially the way we're set up and we need to stop doing it. As welcome as that win was yesterday the quality of all round play needs improving upon massively. Possession, Possession, Possession should be the working title for this coming week's training schedule. If we've got the ball they can't score but we possibly can.

I get what you’re trying to say but I don’t agree.
At this level it’s all about what happens in both boxes. Possession doesn’t mean much. You just need to be strong at the back and take your chances up top - that’s the key to doing well in this league. And let’s face it even in the Prem possession means little. City have struggled recently despite controlling the ball and teams that play on the counter like Palace or Forest have done so much better.
