Agree re the two sides cancelling each other out for the large part of the game. We started brightly but that soon evened itself out they had the better scoring opportunities firstly denied by a superb Wyll Stanway stop and later a post. We had a couple of effort's on target and another shot going narrowly wide. A draw looked likely and probably a fair result after that. But it was a real kick in the teeth having that goal disallowed in the way it was as Rose didn’t appear to be active in the goal. Then came the goal at the death by the Crawley winger Richard’s was some finish as galling as it was at the time. We still lack the cutting edge to make a difference, early days under the Gallagher/ Walsh regime and hopefully that will change but more reinforcements are required for sure.

Maybe I saw a different game to the regular naysayers on here.
We weren't great, but we weren't bad either.
There's so much negativity on here I wonder if the consistent downbeat posters have miserable lives away from HS as well? Who cares?

Yes, that seemed to be the view in the commentary box, too.

Incredibly harsh decision and you wont see one like that again all season. When you’re down you get a kicking.
Liners barely get involved as it is these days and now they can’t even decide offsides, the ref is giving them as well. Bizarre

Well I was hoping for the new Manager bounce but it's not happened yet.
The lay off we had should have given him time to organise the team.
I liked Jackson when he came but he seems to not be playing at his best.
I noticed the Manager usually walks in the area on his own.
Maybe it's me and it's because he is new but does not seem much passion or direction.
Yesterday's game was there for the taking ,but as bad as they were they had more chances .
The game could have gone either way.
Unlike in our last time in the league it's in our hands and if we go down that's on us.
I'd like to see Harper start Tuesday.
We need that cente forward for Roses knockdown.
How long can he stay resilient if all his hard work is for nothing.
If we don't address this we will be as successful as when Josh Gordon is left to play on his own.
Don't panic

It just goes to prove every point won and lost are hard fought for points. Barrow did not deserve to win but surely as hell they didn’t deserve to lose.
Gally promised the team would perform for ninety minutes I think they did.

Yesterday if it wasn’t for bad luck we wouldn’t have had any lots of good performances we just couldn’t find that clinical finish.

So as sickening as it was not getting a result there is optimism, Fletch had probably his best game in a Barrow shirt, the Anderson’s are great additions (Joe was unlucky with his clearance) Rose fantastic first half surely gonna be a crowd favourite just tired later.
As for our disallowed goal, when the hell are we gonna get the rub we’ve had nowt all season I don’t even think we’ve had a pen.
Woods promised at least two more signings maybe three, one being a loan which if it comes off he said will be an excellent signing for us.

Yes not good times but after Fridays meeting I know one thing for absolute certainty there is passion and there is pride so let’s do the only thing we can do and get down Tuesday and if the worst does happen let’s go down fighting.

By the way Crawley had been on a horrendous run like ourselves reminds me of what we did to Wallsall away first season back with a Josh Kay special. So bad runs do come to an end I’m confident ours will this coming Tuesday.

Probably in a dark room with his head in his hands …although he was also in the pub at Wigan with a drink in his hands! 🍺

If we do stay up it’ll be because of the ineptitude of other teams rather than anything that we’ve done ourselves. We’re poor in both boxes which is where games are won and lost. Newport are starting to pick up results and you would expect Bristol Rovers to turn it around, Harrogate are looking doomed.
Lots of business is done at the back end of the January window and hopefully we can get the three players in that PG talks of.
There is some quality in the squad but there’s a few just aren’t up to it which everyone can see. Recruitment for two years has been poor, confidence is low and it’s a huge job to turn that around. We’re never awful or hammered but we’re not good enough more often than not, fine margins that we are nearly always on the wrong side of.

" Really liked their tactics of leaving players up for corners we never do that if we play Whitfield at wingback again I won't believe it they targeted him second half."

What?
Did you actually watch the game if you did you'd know what I'm saying 🤔
I thought they were actually trying to target young Freddie Anderson and he did pretty well against it. A promising debut.

The new-look Crawley looked decent and had come to win (Barrow not leaving people up at opposition corners has been mentioned already). We must acknowledge the shot that won it for them. I know it is fine margins and it could just as easily sailed past the post as several of our shots did but still...

I also noted that one of their players was regularly on the edge of D or thereabouts at the dead ball kicks and when crosses went it. They were regularly able to get a shot in and this didn't seem to be picked up by Barrow despite the numerical advantage we often had in our area.

As an aside to the above, do we have too many in too tight an area of the box at our corners and attacking free kicks?

For what it's worth, we showed much more fight, determination and resilience yesterday, passing the ball quicker and more directly. We were unfortunate to lose and looked a better side than had been seen before Christmas. I was told yesterday by one who had been at Crewe that the same had been true there.

As at Crewe, a refereeing decision had a significant effect on the result. Interesting to hear from Ian Wood on Friday evening that the club's video analysis on our own games and those of others suggests that we have, indeed been comparatively hard done to.
