Personally I want Wood to offer his resignation, the board to be contrite, and for whatever blocker is in place that is keeping Pete Wild away from the club to be removed. And I'm not even drunk!Jonty wrote: ↑Tue Mar 10, 2026 10:29 pm What do fans want out of this? I mean specifics. What is there possibly to gain from going full barrels on recruitment, the state we are in etc etc. should be held at the end of this season. Nothing to gain from having this on Friday night. Yes it needs to happen, but at the end of the season when we know our fate.

But even that doesn’t bring anything to help our current plight. Absolutely nothing to gain from this right now. The shields will be up, Dino caught in the crossfire, there’s a hundred questions - state of the finances for one, but emotions will be running high. Not great on the eve of a crunch match Saturday. Re: Meet The Board
Agreed it will be toxic. We know the board/wood have been in charge of hiring and firing of managers. We know wood is very involved in recruitment. We know the structure of the club as a league 2 club isn’t anywhere near majority of others. We also know how much the club means to owners, how much money they have ploughed in etc. The daftest thing Hornby has said was after sacking Whing and saying about the quality of the squad. It’s going to be people wanting him to say yeh it’s Ian woods fault and fire him in the cross bar, which I think we’d all like, but it’s not going to happen

Hard truths have to start now and the board should be planning for next season in the national league.
Re: Meet The Board
Hornby believing the squad was good enough has not helped. It was clear after 6 games they weren’t good enough. First it was injuries, then it was wholesale squad changes taking time to settle. Then it was a bit misfortune. Then when Rob Kelly came in and said “you don’t need much, they are good enough” that was the worst thing because it reinforced some false belief. Then when we needed some seasoned battling pro’s in Jan we brought in a lot of young gifted players and Gallagher threw them straight into a poor team and expected results.jeff1966 wrote: ↑Tue Mar 10, 2026 10:46 pm Agreed it will be toxic. Now we see that desperate we are playing Isaac Fletcher on his own up front. It’s a complete mess.
It was absolutely crucial we brought in a strong squad after losing the core of a decent side last summer. But no, we took risks on injury prone players and laid too many hopes on it coming good. An almighty gamble that has contributed significantly to where we are.

Re: Meet The Board
I can’t make the Q&A but can someone ask who’s forcing 3 at the back (I’m guessing Wood)?
There’s no way 4 coaches in Whing, Macdonald, Gallagher and Maamria have looked at that squad and the form it’s been in and thought that’s the best system to play. It’s meant to sure you up at the back and we bleed goals, always down the right where either Barkhuizen (not a wing back) or Jackson (nowhere near League Two level) are nowhere to be seen.

Start planning for the National league now.
Even the most ardent of diehards can now see there is no hope of staying up with this crowd that were on the field tonight.

Don't believe for one second that if we are relegated the current board will be in situ next season.barrowfan_chris wrote: ↑Tue Mar 10, 2026 10:59 pmCrunch matches have been and gone we are going down Jonty.Jonty wrote: ↑Tue Mar 10, 2026 10:39 pm

They've given the club a huge amount, it isn't looking like it's going to work, and there must come a time when enough is enough.
Angry posters on here on other threads being very critical. If they pull the plug there's a danger of the club ceasing to exist.

Do you honestly think if they're fans they'll let the club cease to exist? Hysterical nonsense.Hitthebar22 wrote: ↑Tue Mar 10, 2026 11:08 pmDon't believe for one second that if we are relegated the current board will be in situ next season.barrowfan_chris wrote: ↑Tue Mar 10, 2026 10:59 pm

Wood is going to stand up friday and read a statement out apologising for everything that hes got wrong. Its going to completely nullify the Q&A as how can anyone ask for answers when hes already admitted hes got it all wrong. Mark my words thats wat will happen
