The only minor saving grace and when I write this I mean 1% of chance is that some how we win say 3-0 and Sslford spank Crawley but obviously need Harrogate to lose too so knowing our luck we'll win and go down by 1 GD just to rub salt into the wound

Easy one, Nige . . . it's that first season back and the Rob Kelly Miracle. We were in a position of Played 30/Points 26 and then 10 games later it was Played 40/Points 46 . . . that was 20 points from 10 games, which at 2 points per game average was a better return than the eventual Champions, Cheltenham, managed when finishing top. Beyond belief, really.

Then this season I made a mental note that after 30 games we had 27 points, just one better than that same juncture six years ago. But did we go on a similar points-fest this time around from the 30-game marker??????????

Quigley's late winner at Oldham in the first game post Jolley. The four game winning streak a few weeks later which included Kay's late winner at Walsall and Quigley's injury time winner at home to Crawley.

Plenty of obvious ones like cup matches against Villa and Chelsea.

The most I enjoyed our stint in the EFL though was definitely August/September in Wild's first season. Stockport away at Bradford at home. Some great late summer evenings at Holker Street beating Walsall and Doncaster, winning 6 of 7 to start the season. We'd had two difficult seasons battling the drop before that, one behind closed doors. In those months for the first time it felt like we could really establish ourselves as a League club in the long run.

6 years and back to non league is what it is only entertainment end of day least we have a club to support still it's sad yes but who knows we might come up in the proper way one day not by ppg wasn't the same by a long shot as actually winning it was an anti climax really no proper celebrations
