Chace gone

Barrow AFC today confirm the impending departure of Strength & Conditioning Coach, Chace Homer, following today's pre-season friendly. Chace has been at Holker Street for six seasons across over 300 competitive fixtures as a member of staff with the Bluebirds. He leaves to take up an opportunity elsewhere in the Football League. Today's friendly fixture at Morecambe will be his last with the club. Speaking on his departure, Chace said: "As my time at Barrow comes to an end, it gives me the chance to look back on the last six seasons. From my very first day as an intern to leading the S&C programme, there have been challenges, successes, good times and bad, all of which have taught me valuable lessons that no degree ever could. I'd like to extend my thanks to every manager, member of the backroom staff, club staff member and fan that I've shared my time with. The club is full of hardworking and dedicated players and staff, of whom you should be proud. I've developed great relationships and shared many good times with people at the club, for which I will always be grateful. I wish everyone at the club, and everyone connected with it, all the very best for the future. Thank you for everything."
Head of Football Operations, Joseph Harvey said: "It's been a pleasure to work with Chace for many years now and his departure is a great loss for the club. His enthusiasm, attitude and character is second to none and everyone at the club wishes him all the best for the future. Chace is the longest standing member of the football staff and has been part of some brilliant times here with he club. I'm sure everyone will join us in saying goodbye to him at the Morecambe game."
We can also confirm that Liam Welby will become our new Strength & Conditioning Coach moving forward, taking on the mantle of the role alongside supporting the medical department under the tutelage of Head of Medical, Mark Leather.
