Harrogate Town v Barrow match thread
Re: Harrogate Town v Barrow match thread
Could have gone two ways today but a point was probably fair enough.
Still not sure what the game plan is though other than focusing play down the right and being as horrible as possible.
A point on the board however and hopefully with better decision making at the crucial moments, we can kick on starting next Friday.

Just watched the interview.
Good interview and as much as people don't like hearing what he says, he's just being transparent, I don't think it's excuses, it's been told as it is.
The bit at the end with that goon from Harrogate was class .. thanks mate, that's the best compliment!
We came, we ruffled your feathers and took some points away from you in your back yard!
As Murray said, it's just a shame there isn't a game Tuesday because when you start to turn a corner, you want to carry that on. Team is still in its infancy, we did look pretty solid today and there is definitely more to come.
A lot happier today than I was last week..

Nice to get a result against this 'village' team worst ground to go to always have hassle with them, this time about us getting dropped off outside the ground by the bus, last time crossing yellow lines in a pact away end.

That "horrible team" sentiment is what we've been crying out for, for years.

Think a lot of the reaction (myself included) has been negative because the same feelings come in from last year every time we go behind. Realistically today was a decent result and we could have won it. We controlled possession and didn’t really get to threatened + it’s Harrogate, probably our biggest bogey team.
Not a big fan of our style today but it’s a style we’ve succumbed too on far too many occasions last couple of years. We’ve always lacked a bit of bite or shithousery as it’s called now and it’s nice too see us giving it out. I would like too see us get it down and play a bit more but you have gotta mix it at times.
Our right hand side needs addressing asap, far too vulnerable. Keeper needs to stop booming it at every opportunity too.

For all the moaning listen to the Murray interview with AJ towards the end.
I thought we performed well today and it was a good point onwards and upwards.

Just watched the highlights
Winterbottom should be doing better for their 1st goal. Poor poor goalkeeping

Re: Harrogate Town v Barrow match thread
I certainly overreacted with frustration when their second went in, the all too familiar sinking feeling of last season was back as we seemingly conspired to lose a game that we could have well won ourselves. However that changed ten minutes later, we refused to lie down and that is a massive change. Feeling a lot more positive as the day has drawn on, hoping Cameron's goal turns out to be a Dixon-at-Aldershot-esque catalyst for an upturn in form.
Popular side since '03.

After 3 league games our style of play is dividing opinions some like it and some hate it while many probably couldn't care less, it's a results business but should football clubs always try to entertain whatever the final result, going to be an interesting season if we are winning but playing dreadful football will crowds increase or not.

Winterbottom should not have been put in a position where he had a shot to try and save. To allow someone to run that far with the ball and get a shot off is just rank bad defending

Ideal if we entertain AND win, but I think most would say that winning is the more important.behind the goals wrote: ↑Sat Aug 22, 2026 8:16 pm After 3 league games our style of play is dividing opinions some like it and some hate it while many probably couldn't care less, it's a results business but should football clubs always try to entertain whatever the final result, going to be an interesting season if we are winning but playing dreadful football will crowds increase or not.
