Season so far and how much longer ?

Post by LCBAFC40 » Wed Sep 02, 2026 10:00 am

So I could safely say no one on here thought we'd have 2 points from 15 after 5 games ?
Now I would have been in utter shock if we'd been top or even unbeaten but no wins at home or even points is very frustrating. 2 draws away at good teams I can take no problem but we definitely should have had more.
Sutton on Saturday who were unbeaten until recently show this will be a very tough match.
Rose gone, new players coming in ?????

I know the manager said his team would take a couple of months to gel and players have come in / gone and there are glances the team can dominate although not taking our chances is the killer !!!! But how long "if we lose" Saturday will he get ???

You’d want to see at least a couple of wins by the end of this month, but it’s certainly not panic stations yet. Really do think people underestimate just how tough basically signing a full new squad and getting them to gel is; players look ok in pre season when opposition aren’t at full speed/strength but then you realise aren’t quite up to it and they become your squad players whilst you need better for the starting 11 etc

I’d be concerned if by 10 games in we haven’t got as many points as games played.

He should be given the time to get the players he wants and get them all playing in the style he wants.

Surely we've learnt the lessons from last year.

Let's top talking about getting rid of the manager so soon, otherwise we really will become known as a 'hire 'em fire 'em' outfit, hence finding it difficult to attract the better managers.

We have got to be patient this time. It took him until December to get all the players in at Kiddy he wanted and before they became consistent. That didn’t end to badly for them or him

Well he's brought in 10 already so I wouldn't think we can afford many more!

He rightly should be given time however if we don’t win any of the next 5 games then he should be out of time.

He's also shifted some out and used loan deals to bring down the costs.

I suspect a number of loan signings will come in where salaries are agreed with parent clubs.IIRC he used the loanmarket 13 times last season when at Kiddy.

By Murray’s own admission we have a healthy budget and play offs was the aim from most of the players in their interviews.
10 game mark is always a good judgement point I think everyone knew it would take time but I did expect more points on board than we currently have.

Not having it that Kidderminster are a good team
And Hartlepool have only won once since they beat us. I don’t buy the luck thing either we got a very soft penalty against Hornchurch and Kidderminster hit the post on Monday. So far we’ve not done enough in both boxes to win a match.

Yeovil showed promise but Kidderminster was a step backwards again for me, Sutton is a huge test. The longer we go without a win the more we get in a rut like last year, confidence drops and crowds drop with it. We need a win on Saturday to hopefully kick start us. It might not be pretty it usually isn’t against Sutton not the Sutton of old anyways. I’d take a scrappy 1 nil win and a clean sheet. We’re a few players short still but we need to see some signs of progress soon and results, it’s a results business and if they don’t come then the inevitable will happen…

I don’t think any team we've played so far has left me thinking “wow this lot are miles ahead of us” and I was slightly miffed after the first game defeat by Hartlepool that so many pitched it as a defeat by potential title contenders. I honestly didn't think they were any better than us in the general play with two goals largely down to our defensive lapses. I think the all round quality of games is down on EFL2 and I've yet to see an opponent who have stood out even at this early stage. The draw at Kidderminster was two points dropped as they were there for the taking but we couldn't get that second goal.
Murray is talking about coming into car crashes and processes. We've heard all that before. Don't forget last Jan we were told “there’s not much needed to do” well that turned out well. So how much was mis direction from the reality of what was going on behind the scenes. We need to put that behind us and move on. Any team that gets their act together and goes on 10-12 game run will be well up there. Lets hope its us. It’s not fancy football wins games in this league as we've found out.

Frustrating is what it is its been awful for so long its depressing knowing most likly we wont see a home win as home forms terrible the past year or so i dont even feel motivated to attend tomorrow knowing our home forms a disgrace and I end up walking away [SwearFilter] off

Keep the faith these are our games played and positions in our title winning season we can't keep changing the manager every time they lose a few games having a manager for the long haul is the key to success[img][img]

I get why as it seems like it’s been a long dark tunnel. But time to pull yourself together man, in order to appreciate you have to suffer sometimes. We had it so good for a prolonged period of time then totally fell off a cliff edge.
We are having to learn to adapt again after a total reset it doesn’t happen overnight. Stick with it and before long we hopefully will find something to be enthusiastic about once again then the roller coaster ride will all of been worth it.
