First time we've won 4 on the bounce since the magical 2020 season.... fingers crossed a repeat.
Re: Barrow v Wealdstone match thread
That was a tough tough game. Just brilliant that we had the sheer determination to keep going and get that one over the line. Well played boys. That’s another three

9th in’t table - lofty heights - with promise of better to come.
Flying this morning and the inflight WiFi was in and out so much I missed all 3 goals … but saw the missed pen. Not a care noted!
There’s a rabbit off … let’s keep behind this team and will them into the high playoffs.
Come on you bluebirds!!’

I honestly thought we'd dropped 2 points there until lanes brilliant determination to get the ball then Mooneys cross headed back for ward to pounce for ward to finish absolutely fantastic way to finish, we really missed Marriot but we kept going despite missing the penalty and another glaring miss from Read ! Surprised by the subs coming on so late but thankfully it worked! Onwards we go !

Re: Barrow v Wealdstone match thread
Only listening, but it sounded tight. As Adam Murray has just said, it can be tough playing against 10 men. However, our mentality (so different from last year) means that I am still confident that we will score as it ticks over the 90 minute mark.
It’s frustrating that no matter how good we are from here on, the best we are likely to do is 2nd, as Boreham Wood look unstoppable. This is where only one guaranteed promotion place becomes a problem. Early days yet - if we beat BW home and away, who knows!

Re: Barrow v Wealdstone match thread
An even first half, in which we were pegged back within three minutes of taking the lead, was followed by an eventful second period. Wealdstone went down to 10 men through a second yellow 12 minutes in, while Baptiste did very well to save both a Reid penalty and a Mooney shot ten minutes later. Dogged defending by the visitors looked good for a point until Ward’s strike in the third minute of added time gained us our fourth win on the run, sending us up into 9th place.
On a pleasant sunny Autumn afternoon watched by 2,536 (including 86 visiting fans), Wealdstone kicked off, earning a corner from a Winterbottom save 5 minutes in. This was cleared, and two minutes later Reid fired just wide for Barrow from the edge of the area.
A penalty appeal by Barrow for a pulling back in the area was then waved away, and in the 14th minute a good break by Maher and ball through to Norris had to be dealt with. Wealdstone’s Kadji received his first yellow of the afternoon,
It was end-to-end stuff- in the 21st minute a Maher shot from 25 yards sailed just over the bar. Two minutes later, we were in the lead. An Edwards corner from the right went though to Harper who smashed the ball inside the left post. The lead only lasted three minutes as a Wealdstone break by Okenabirhie was not dealt with, Maher shooting from the left edge of the area into the right corner for 1-1.
On the half-hour, Edwards, who earned Barrow’s man of the match, saw his 25-yard shot go wide of the left post.
Thompson was then booked for a foul on Kanu, while Walker followed him into the book 8 minutes later.
In the 42nd minute, Kanu was carded for a bad foul on Edwards. Two minutes later, Baptiste made a good save from Thompson free kick.
Not a lot to choose between the teams at the break. Eight minutes into the second half, Newton was booked for a foul on Oakley. From Thompson’s free kick, the ball ended up in the net but was ruled offside. Wealdstone’s second yellow in the half was more costly for the visitors. In bringing down Latty-Fairweather on the break, Kadji earned his second caution and left the field in the 58th minute.
Mooney then replaced Walker and within two minutes put in a couple of dangerous crosses. The first was headed wide of the left post by Benjamin, the second just failed to find a killer touch by Reid.
In the 66th minute, Wealdstone made three changes. Newton, Okenabirhie and Olomola were replaced by Cook, Oni and Chesters.
Two minutes later, there was mayhem in the visitor’s penalty area. An Edwards shot was stopped on the line; Reid went for the loose ball and was felled in the area. Maher was carded and Reid had the chance to fire the Bluebirds into the lead. Baptiste saved the penalty, diving to his right at full stretch.
A minute later, Baptiste was the hero again as he acrobatically punched out a Mooney shot for a corner. Three Barrow corners in quick succession were then cleared.
The goalie had kept Wealdstone in the game and blocks by other defenders were also thwarting Barrow. It was difficult to find a way through, while the counter-attack was an ever present threat.
In the 78th minute an Edwards shot went over the bar and Wealdstone replaced Maher with Uchenna. We changed our goalscorer Harper for Cameron.
In the 86th minute Benjamin was booked as our frustrations grew. A triple substitution two minutes later was our final roll of the dice, Edwards, Thompson and Reid being replaced by Ward, Allen and Lane.
We then threw the kitchen sink at Wealdstone in the 8 minutes remaining, including six of added time. First, Allen was fouled and a Ward free kick was cleared, then Benjamin shot wide.
In the second minute of time added, Norris was fouled on the edge of their box and it looked like they would manage the game with the regained possession. Two minutes later, the breakthrough came. Mooney and Cameron piling on the pressure in the area for Ward to make the vital touch.
Another lengthy celebration for a fourth straight win, including all the players and manager racing together towards the Holker Street end after the final whistle to take the applause!

Wait for the fat lady. Remember Walsall who were 7 points clear at the top of EFL2 at New Year and failed to make the automatic places and lost the playoffs.Bakewell Blue wrote: ↑Sat Oct 03, 2026 5:43 pm It’s frustrating that no matter how good we are from here on, the best we are likely to do is 2nd, as Boreham Wood look unstoppable.
