The pen was decent, keeper chose the right side and made a great save.

In Murray's interview with Adam after the game he also forgot that Harper scored or first goal! He actually said that Rakeem had a good game but didn't score today! Adam corrected him.pjdaly wrote: ↑Sat Oct 03, 2026 8:50 pm Aside from the very hard-earned last-gasp win, the thing that really lit me up today was a comment made by Adam Murray when asked about his thoughts beforehand on Marriott who was going to be missing the game and he said he was pleased! In fact he managed to sound delighted about one of our stars being missing today! I can think of some top managers that have had a twisted psychology, the likes of Bill Shankly and Brian Clough leaping immediately to mind. When I say "twisted psychology" it's meant as a compliment I can assure you. These people come out with things that might shock, might amuse, but who nevertheless provide a surprise and rational alternative perspective that might be overlooked and go unseen by most. Murray found the positive in Marriott's impending absence. I like it. Long may he continue to find the hidden windows of light. It's a change from doom-mongering and catastrophising.

4 pages after winning 4 on the bounce, surely we need to moan about the pitch cutting up and players slipping? And them subs were far too late! And how come when it went 2-1 we didn’t put the floodlights on?

Mooney seems to be an absolute diamond. I was worried when other clubs spoke on his attiutde but same as seb he seems to be fully buying in to the cause. Long may it continue! Superb result again bluebirds

I had forgotten that. We play Boreham Wood at Holker Street on 5 December so maybe we can start the rot then!Jim wrote: ↑Sat Oct 03, 2026 6:54 pmWait for the fat lady. Remember Walsall who were 7 points clear at the top of EFL2 at New Year and failed to make the automatic places and lost the playoffs.Bakewell Blue wrote: ↑Sat Oct 03, 2026 5:43 pm It’s frustrating that no matter how good we are from here on, the best we are likely to do is 2nd, as Boreham Wood look unstoppable. This is where only one guaranteed promotion place becomes a problem. Early days yet - if we beat BW home and away, who knows!

Currently we aren’t bad at all.
The fitness levels are very high, and players don’t look knackered in the last 15.
The subs so far have been excellent, and add an extra dimension when they come on.
Nothing really not to like at the moment.

We're not now but for the first 4 or 5 games at the start of the season we were!
It's hats off to the manager for turning this team around but it's because of the players he brought in lately which have transformed the team. Still a way behind Boreham Wood from what I've seen but definitely a hard team to beat now.
It's difficult to argue with anything the manager does at the moment but I truly cannot understand why Allen isn't a starter. He's dangerous every time he's in possession and looks a much better player than Walker.

I agree on Walker. Only thing with both Allen and Mooney now is to see how much impact they have when they start; it’s worked fantastically well having them both coming on against tiring defenders so farrussell_anderson wrote: ↑Sun Oct 04, 2026 1:27 am It's difficult to argue with anything the manager does at the moment but I truly cannot understand why Allen isn't a starter. I've just watched the highlights of yesterday's match on Youtube. No disrespect of course to Adam (his diction and enunciation is fine by me) as mistakes happen on the subtitling, or text, accompanying every film clip online, but, depending on your perspective, we can view these AI-generated sub-titles as either hilarious or creatively ingenious.
On yesterday's long list of "misunderstandings" by Subtitling we have Barrow playing against – at various moments – "Will Sutton" and "Wilson". Even "Doncaster" somehow gets in there at one point. Then at the end we find it's "Kitching Ball" that scores our winner.
More sinister is that – despite the many errors – the AI subtitling-service DOES appear to have a deep knowledge of our history and past players. On a couple of occasions we find that recently departed Ben Whitfield made a couple of good saves for us yesterday (when he wasn't scoring for Boreham Wood) and even Matty Platt pops up for us at one point. That one is even more startling as how can Latty Fairweather become " Matty Platt"? Sinister!
Can we assume that at some time in the future we might see Daisy Bell back scoring goals for us? Perhaps the likes of Fred Else or Jimmy Mulholland might one day be back starring for us if AI subtitling has its way? I cannot imagine what sort of wordy-ultra-misconcoction will see Colin Cowperthwaite grace us with his presence again on the Holker Street turf . . . we can but dream . . .

Re: Barrow v Wealdstone match thread
What a great game of footy that was yesterday, both teams contested a very hard fought match.
Murray has got Barrow playing with such intensity teams cannot live with us, it’s now us scoring the late goals that win matches.
Harper is running and playing like a Rolls Royce and he rose magnificently to the challenge of being our Captain yesterday.
I’m really happy for the whole club our confidence is rising game by game and the youngsters playing out of their skins with Murray balancing things beautifully who said you won’t win anything with kids.
Supporters also doing their bit let’s break through that 3k barrier and enjoy the ride.
The connectivity with the players, management and staff has been the best it’s ever been there’s a real sense of togetherness.
Something special brewing here I can feel it.

Re: Barrow v Wealdstone match thread
I will hold my hand up and say that at the beginning of this season, I really was fearing the worst. However, yesterday was the first game I was able to attend this season and the first game in a long, long time that I felt such a strong atmosphere and sense of community and belief in the club. As several have pointed out, previous seasons would have seen us thrown away that game after the penalty miss with us all lamenting how we threw away 3 points to 10 Wealdstone. But, as we saw yesterday, that was not the case and I cannot give enough credit to the players, management and fans that were all behind one another.
The last game I saw was our 2-1 win over Bromley, but even then it felt like most the players didn’t give a toss. Long may the fantastic feeling from yesterday continue. Up the bluebirds!
