Doesn't feel any better having slept on it.

Felt sorry for Ash when the Ebbsfleet manager was mocking his hairstyle, quite nasty, should have been sent to the stand for all the abuse he gave DB, BP and 4th official.

There are glimpses of passion in every one of our players. Ok, maybe not McConville. But that's it, just a glimpse, never turning it on for the full 90. Epitomised by Danny L Rowe and his inability or lack of desire to jump for a ball.

You don't play a 6 pointer relegation battle, when your neck's on the line, with one man up front. Unless you've just read the paper and discovered your neck isn't on the line maybe.

Still, with no Southern teams to play next year, we wont be sat for an hour in ASDA car park listening to Boney M and Leo Sayer, look for the positives.

Be interesting to hear from anyone sat in the stand as to what instructions was being issued to the players during the game.. We seemed intent in trying to out hoof our opponents when every other soul in the ground was shouting "get it on the deck!".

Last nights performance (the 1st 80 min at least) was one of the worst I've seen in a long time. No composure, played with very little intellegence and some seemd to have resigned themselves to our fate, which baring something special, seems all but sealed after that.

YJO time and time again found himself in acres of space, unfrtuanetly that's not his game, so why didn't he and Harvey just swap roles, then one of our so called better footballers could have try to dictate the play.

Ebbsfleet were shocking, and I can see why there are where the are in the league, and we played into their hands - it was like watching a small kid trying to take on a bigger bully... there was only ever going to be one winner in that battle.

and don't even get me started why that fella on the right started WTF was that all about...

So many bad things to rant over it makes my head hurt. Special mention for Danny Hurst, outstanding, without him Lord knows what the damage would have been.

Sadly though, all that you said there is why we also are where we are in this league, and why next season we won't be in this league

Simply not good enough, should have lost that game 6-1, thank god for Hurst that’s all I can say. Our centre backs were abysmal and were bossed all night.
What can I say about McConville that hasn’t already been said. D.L Rowe was a waste of space but Ruthers was very good when he came on.Was saying Ruthers should be on second half but that's the managers call.
Well its Mansfield up next who have won their last twelve games in a game Barrow simply have to win. Start that game the way we started yesterday and we will be two down before some of the corporate have taken their seats.
The fat lady is clearing her throat.
I agree start with the same team that finished the game last night.

That'd include McConville starting wouldn't?

You've got me thinking now whether he got taken off towards the end.........he could've been taken off from the first minute & it wouldn't have made a difference though.

Why is it when our players shoot from outside the box they can't keep the [SwearFilter] ball on the ground? how many times did they nearly put one of the cross bar windows through last night?

It's embarrassing that a so called professional footballer can't manage to have a shot on goal without the ball ending up in the soccer bars car park.

I'm still wondering this morning why Dawson was taken off.
We didn't underestimate them, we just didn't think they were that good.

Got me thinking now if Mc finished the game? Well just to clarify i dont want him anywhere near the first 11!!! Think Dawson was flagging slightly, just fresh legs on imo.

Seen how many Southern teams are in the so-called Conference North?

That first 45 minutes was about as heartbreaking a 45 minutes as I’ve ever witnessed from a Barrow side, given the circumstances. Tiredness can be absolutely no excuse as Ebbsfleet also played on Saturday and Monday, as well as enduring what must have been a torturous journey. If Ebbsfleet had gone in 4-0 up at the interval it would not have flattered them. Only the brilliance of Hurst prevented this.

The whole team seemed, as a collective, just light the startled deer in the headlights - - petrified of the situation. Obviously it’s not hard to understand the nerves and tension, given the gravitas of the situation, but one of the roles of a pro is surely to be able to deal with it. Of the outfield players only the excellent Hunter stood out as having the aura and calm of a pro.

I am broadly in favour of Bayliss and there is so much I admire about the man but for the life of me I cannot understand how anyone would elect to pick McConville instead of Rutherford. The latter, for all his failings, is always going to be busy and make a nuisance of himself (as indeed he did in setting up our equaliser) whereas McConville brings nothing to the party.

Harvey - - - where do I begin? I have said it before and will say it again; this lad is at one and the same time the most talented footballer we have but also the disappointment of the season. Last night unfortunately he chose to have one of his invisible showings. The lad needs to have a think about things; he has the potential for a bright future but why oh why oh why does he go missing so frequently?

Being unbiased and dispassionate about the situation I’d have to say we probably deserve to go down. It’s not just that we score so few goals and let in plenty; it’s the fact that we show so little moral courage in trying to get forward and give it a go (even it means losing 4-3) and at the back it’s the fact that we make the same mistakes over and over and do not learn. Last night, to complete that sad first half, we topped it off just before the break by giving an opponent complete freedom to head home from six yards. Where have we heard that before this season?

So, it’s onto the Miracle of Mansfield. Miracles do happen don’t they???

What a way to all but surrender our BSP status, not with a bang but a [SwearFilter] whimper.

I've defended Bayliss plenty over the season but 1 up top at home to a relegation rival thats just been sat on a bus for 10 hours in an absolutely MUST WIN game is inexcusable i'm afraid. Tactically naive from the off last night and Ebbsfleet could and should have been well out of sight by half time.

[SwearFilter] shite.

They lost 2-1 at Wrexham tonight. Not sure if that helps us or not, though.

Could go either way

Having failed to win for the 1st time in 13 and actually losing aswell it could dent there confidence a little leaving them vulnerable

Or it could mean we come up against a side looking to bounce back and hungry for blood.

Good to see Ruthers battling to keep hold of the ball, gotta say though after watching his shots the other night I'm glad he never shrugged the defender off & had a go himself.

From the glimpses we've seen of ODonnell I think I'd like to see him start tomorrow, couple of daft mistakes starting to creep back into the defence atm.
We didn't underestimate them, we just didn't think they were that good.
