Two cheap shots by their no.7 on Macca and still think it was a pen on Ellison late in the game by the keeper.

Their 7 was Obi Anoruo who was with us for a spell a few years back.

Don't think you'll see a more blatant penalty not given than that one on Ellison, not a clue how the referee hasn't given that.

Anouro had no interest in the ball whatsoever in that first challenge on McMillan, should've been a booking at the very least but seen people sent off for less. Totally pointless, even if he had got the ball all he'd have done is knock it out for a goal kick anyway.

Good win far better performance than Tuesday against Hednesford, and the opposition keeper actually made a save instead of just picking it out of the net a few times! Craking effort from Sheridan forcing a good save, deserved his superbly taken goal. Super sub Ghorman made his impact felt with a good finish and the Cookie monster is being fed.

Some of Anoruo's (No7) other challenges were dubious as well. He spent a considerable amount of time on his backside after going in on other players and not coming out of it the better.

The ref let rough and tumble be the order of the day, there were challenges all over the park that should have resulted in free kicks but he was not that bothered. Probably why he didn't award the penalty. Neither the defender or the keeper got a touch on the ball and the keeper wiped Ellison out, the assistants on the line rarely flagged for anything before the ref had indicated what he thought.

We have seen some atrocious time wasting from teams recently with sides trying to hang on to a lead or a draw, mostly unsuccessful it has to be said. Travelling supporters must be getting bored out of their skulls watching their team with these tactics. The officials have just let it go with the odd slight encouragement to get on with it. At 1-0 to Colwyn Bay at the first sign of time wasting, the ref ordered their players to get on with it. I thought good he is getting in early, if they keep it up we might actually see a yellow this time. He then proceeded to ignore worse cases of time wasting that followed. As usual when the visitors fell behind the time wasting evaporated and they picked up the pace and we had a game of football again.

One really bizarre moment in the 1st, Colwyn got a free kick about 5 yards inside their half but they rolled the ball a yard or so into the Barrow half. Obvious it was not been taken from the proper place the Barrow players (and supporters) complained and he order them to move it back. They didn't touch it (time wasting) and I think it was Sheridan who nudged it back into their half, only for the taker to roll it back to where they had originally placed it. The ref never took his eyes off the player and the ball while this was going on, but he still let them take it from the same spot where a moment ago he had stopped them. It wasn't constant bad decisions but the bad ones really stood out. Thankfully the game didn't come down to a ref's decision or it probably wouldn't have been a very good one.

They were due to play their re-arranged game in-hand against Guiseley tomorrow but their Trophy tie takes precedent. They play at home to Telford instead, if they win that tie their league game at Worcester on Saturday gets bumped as they will play away at FC United in the next round. Their current ground is obviously a bit susceptible to the weather given two postponements in a week. I can see a fixture pile up happening for them as a result of their cup success. Suspensions start to come thick and fast in the second half of the season and if they get hit by an injury or two they'll end up dropping points for sure. It only took Barrow weakened by the current injury problems to loose two games and everything changed, still a lot of games left for things to change again.

In a few weeks Barrow will start getting players back and will likely finish the season quite strong. Just need to concentrate on themselves and get on with it, the pressure is really on Fylde not to throw it away.
