Never in doubt really, earnt a good move to the FL and he'd be stupid not to take it, just as we'd be stupid to blow half our wage bill on constantly upping offers for him.

Hopefully both sides will conduct themselves well, and I wish him the best of luck in the future.

It's obvious that Cook would take the opportunity of playing for a league club if he gets an offer. Who wouldn't? However, it's one thing being a prolific goalscorer in the Conference (i can't get used to National League!) and quite another in the Football League. Just ask Ricky Miller for one. Prolific for Boston, failure at Luton and now prolific again with Dover. I wish Cook well but IMO he won't be a great success in the Football League as he has neither the skill nor the pace. He'll be missed but any manager worth his salt could find a player just as good at Conference level. In fact, I wouldn't be surprised to see Cook back playing for Barrow within a year.

Still wouldn't rule anything out yet! He's definitely positioned himself right in the middle of the display in the shop window though! Someone said he's bit daft, I daft on the right side! ;)

Totally agree the money you hear mentioned offered to him is frightening. He wants to play in the football league then I wish him good luck hope it works out well for him.

Will be sad to see him go but fully understand how he wants to play at the highest level possible. As it seems likely he'll go I'd wish him well and it seems like the parting will be on good terms so he'd consider coming back at a later date if it doesn't work out.
As a former member of this forum mentioned earlier in the thread is anyone actually looking at players contracts and talking to the players about extending them? I'd hope Cox was having a say in that area but is something being done about it once its been suggested?

He's getting on a bit, now aged 35.
Age is just a number.Arguably the best midfield general we've had in the last decade was 41 when he finally hung up his boots having had a major say in the surge to the play-offs.
That is a role I think Grant could play if his most recent injury hasn't blunted him.Alternatively he could join his beloved Carlisle and stop Curle from sniffing around Cooky !

Definitely not a done deal that he's moving. I can see him stalling as his agent hawks him about other league clubs, but I reckon it's 50/50 whether he'll stay or go.

Good luck Cooky. If you get fed up again, why not?

Grant Holt is a massive no for me. Tin hat time.
