Tranmere 1-0 Barrow, Cook scores with Diarra allegedly taking the blame.
What did diarra do wrong. I thought last night when I read this that it wasn't him marking cook and this video confirms that. I'm guessing radio said he was to blame

Yes your last point. I was just repeating what BBC RC said, that the other players were all looking at Diarra as if he was to blame.

I don't know if it's just me but I get the feeling all is not well between the two PC's( I could be miles away though.) Heard the odd thing here and there and from his comments in the mail it seems like a few digs at Casson. Hope I'm wrong

Sorry to burst your bubble.
Also, the amount of late tackles and little kicks he let go from Barrow players, including the one that left Connor Jennings needing treatment early in the game, was comical.
I'm not saying he was a good ref, but he was terrible for both teams. However, he got the penalty spot on.

That was my assessment too - he was terrible for both sides. The Tranmere fans jeered ironically quite a few times after he'd let a lot of fouls go. Wasn't helped by a linesman (on the dugout side) that got nearly every call the wrong way round!

Just looked at
Tranmere's highlights on YouTube and I've got to say Cook attacking from deep was always going to smash the ball (or someone) toward the net. Don't think you can blame Diarra for that.
The second goal, definately in the area and Dixon makes no contact with the ball. Norwood plays it away from Dixon then despite being able to chase it down dangles his leg between Dixon's and with very little contact buys the penalty. We see them given all the time. Dixon didn't need to run out the defenders were right behind him, he was asking for it.
As for it being a red card offence which has been downgraded to a yellow this season as suggested by BBC RC. It went across the corner of the box on the 18 yard line going wide all the time, never a red. Downgrading of a red to yellow is when a player stops a goal from being scored, he didn't look like he was going to score from there.

That picture is the point at which he is trying to buy the penalty. He kicks the ball clear and jumps to avoid a challenge from Dixon that never comes. Dixon is on his feet the whole time. While in the air he knows he's not getting to the ball which is speeding away, so spreads his legs and makes contact with Dixon as shown in the photo and then dives over, as confirmed by the Tranmere fans comments posted earlier, a dive. Very clever.
Dixon coming out and Norwood going over forced the ref to call it and sadly we didn't get what we wanted.

I'm not saying he didn't play for it, but I definitely wouldn't call it a dive. There was significant contact, more than just a clip, that changed Norwood's direction in mid air - the keeper has bundled him over. Watch the video.

If we don’t learn as a football club from tonight and if we can’t look at what is needed to be competitive in this league from the game tonight, that’s when the worries start for me.”
Still [SwearFilter] off he didn't get Rhead IMO.

All makes sense we have the nucleus of a strong side but need the extra quality upfront and midfield play maker. I've spent £200 watching Saturday and then the trip last night, not expecting to see the best side in the league but a team that can cope with pressure and play with experience. We've got the right manager imo so let's back him

Can't see any digs at Casson in there. However, I wouldn't be surprised if some of the players Cox signed are on the way out soon - if they don't pull their finger out - judging from his commments regarding being COMPETITIVE in THIS league. I like Cox's style, he says it as it is!
Didn't get to the Tranmere game but from what I saw on Saturday, we still lack creativity and flair...

Early days but still think we'll struggle to reach the Play-Offs.

Dont take this the wrong way but,I would forget about the play offs.Yes we have spent money compared to a few clubs in this league but nothing in comparison to what others have spent to reach the play offs and beyond.

I certainly won't be writing off our chances of anything after two games
Cox summed it up in that article the players mentality was we are inferior to them - Tranmere weren't anything to write home about - they were there for the taking

Austin asked me to post this about the support last night.
"The travelling support was superb last night, sang and chanted all night long. A lot of the humour and tongue in cheek chants were well received by those of us in the main stand. Great effort.
