Carlisle,Blackpool,Bolton, Fleetwood,Rochdale, Sheffield United etc away all preferable to Bristol Rovers away.
Same here Jimmy.
The BBC buggering about making it a Sunday again isn't great either. There should be a rule about that, they can do it once a season to you but no more, especially in consecutive rounds. If they are that bothered about picking us for telly, do it properly and give us full coverage.
May have been moved due to both Bristol City & Rovers being at home the same weekend so Rovers offered to switch their game and get the extra cash?
Also easier to arrange our game for Sunday rather than rearrange the Bristol City game.

This topic came to mind on Tuesday night - I was queuing in a poorly lit area, uneven surface riddled with puddles, with concessions told to queue for a turnstile labelled 'Adults only' and adults and kids in a different queue. I ended up paying my money to a young lady with a plastic tub through an opened gate rather than through a turnstile. I didn't mind but I do wonder what first time visitors or relatively new fans think of things like that.
I remember that turnstile on the corner, used it a few times.

The game on Tuesday kicked off with 3 large slow moving queues outside, it was taking a long time to get each supporter through the turnstiles. The turnstiles are slow on the best of days, they were unprepared for the numbers that night.

For those that weren't there... The players were on the pitch and the plastic tub mentioned was on the large gate. An attempt by the stewards to get people into the ground faster by forming a 4th queue for those with correct change. I was tempted to join that queue as I had correct change, but I stayed put as I was close to getting in anyway. Still took another couple of minutes and I did miss the first few minutes of the game and others missed more. It was one of the few nights I actually had the time to go early and I didn't. :(
I was situated on that side of the ground, tbh there was just a trickle of supporters arriving up until around twenty minutes to kick off and then it looked like it was going to be a poor night attendance wise.

But as usual everyone arrives en-masse then wonder why they can't get in! Just imagine people leaving their houses from the same Street, Road or Avenue at the same time it's inevitable that there would be a backlog and you would use some common sense next time and leave before your neighbour. So why do we not adopt a bit of common sense when arriving for what was always going to be a busier night at Holker Street.

The club saw there was a problem and reacted by putting someone on the big gate to alleviate the queues.

Money matters John, Your mega fugal travel plans make that blindingly obvious & Cassons ground plans may have been in part due to the lack of support we were getting when we are having our best season ever while being NL, We we're stuck with 1200/1300 for a age....Recently we are drawing 1700/1800 which is miles better, Hopefully we can drag a few more in & our gate averages fly up then you never know we might just upscale our redevelopment plans again to suit the higher average.
If people read my post I said why did it matter that we'd got 30K - it was never mentioned or didn't seem to matter we lost £827,198 the other season?
How much more have we lost/are we losing - or PC subsidised us since? Now when we've won a couple of games in the Cup and 30K comes in it gets mentioned but its barely gonna make a difference in the grand scheme of things.

Comparing me to Paul Casson is pointless as I'm not the owner with millions to spend - PC knew he'd have to do that when he first came here. If we want to be less unsustainable then one way is getting more people here by improving the ground with better facilities - Casson said this initially and that he was developing all 4 sides to help enable this to happen. Now he's only developing 2 sides and this was nothing to do with the lack of support we're getting but because he said we didn't need to - shooting down his own argument for being sustainable in the first place? How many extra people will come to the ground in the middle of winter in pouring rain with no roof on the Holker end?
Of Course we lost heavily when PC took over as he has had to rectify decades of neglect as we never really had the money to improve the things there were needed, then he has had to treble the wage bill more or less to attract better players so we can compete, He fully understud this before he took over & expected to cough up the very large sums, But at least now he is seeing an increase in our gates & this cup run, We have probably banked 40/50k already with more coming in from the BR game, shared gate, TV coverage monies & the prize money when we beat them.....We are hopefully getting a huge tie vs 1 of the big boys, All the above must satisfy Casson as he see's his costly nurturing beginning to bear fruit & least be move affordable for him, You have to speculate to accumulate buddy.
Success breeds success enjoy it while we can.

PS, Only you compared yourself to Casson

I would have hoped the club had some plan in place for the hardcore fans to either save there's stubs or announced a scheme where any fans saving stubs from our previous cup games & our league leading up to this BR fixture.

I'd hate to see loyal fans lose out if the games won or tied & we pull a giant at home in the 3rd round, the scramble for tickets will be red hot as we'd only have up to 4 thousand for home fans, Maybe a few hundred less etc, If this (Please Father Christmas I won't ask for anything else ever again) happens Demand will outweigh Supply & many loyal hardcore will miss out.

It won't happen anyway as Mystic Mick has had the vision Arsenal away  :scarf:
