And Barrow doesn't attract tourism? To our Beaches, Furness Abbey, Dock Museum + being the gateway to The Lakes...gez imps wrote:Tell that to the hundreds of thousands of tourists that visit our city every year.
You've seen Holker Street - full stop.
You got beat by us...TWICE...live with it and stop the sour grapes.

We are on the door step of the English Lakes. Now that's what you call tourism on our doorstep.gez imps wrote:Tell that to the hundreds of thousands of tourists that visit our city every year.
I now live in Cambridge, and by comparison, I have never thought of Lincoln as a tourist site - that place between the Wash and Grimsby.

Oh, by the way, tourists VISIT towns & cities they don't actually LIVE in those towns/cities.
Unfortunately, for you and your fellow citizens, you HAVE to LIVE in a city that came way down the scale in that survey.

A 5 – 1 aggregate is pretty comprehensive in most people’s books Gez. You’re a really sore loser that’s for sure and there’ll be another pounding for your hysterical cry-babies on Saturday for you to suck up.
We will foller the soccer, over land and sea...

Just watched the highlights, is it me or does Rhead sport a fine set of man boobs
Re: Barrow v Lincoln City match thread
At least it was only a plastic bottle that was thrown by the Lincoln fans, and not gez imp's colossal stool. Wouldn't have been many takers to lob that back...wouldn't have been many survivors.

Not just this guy (one of our own trolls?), but a few of the Lincoln lot seem to forget they've been shite for 10 years, playing terrible long ball football, until they got a bit of money in the summer.gez imps wrote:I am struggling to decipher this rubbish. Re: Barrow v Lincoln City match thread
After a good opening first ten minutes in each half, Lincoln disappointed. Their wingers looked promising but the bullying attempts of Rhead became laughable as he failed to get his way time after time and eventually became simply frustrated to the point where, having been booked, he should surely have been given a second yellow for his pantomime sarcasm towards the referee. No wonder he was subbed almost immediately. Lincoln came across as a dirty side generally - was that just down to frustration?
Good effort from Barrow with three well-taken goals. Harrison's was excellent, almost intuitive in a way similar to several previous goals. Surprised he was allowed to try to stay on after injury; as he came over to the side he looked quite groggy, let alone hardly being able to walk.
After recent results, time of year and live TV coverage, the attendance was unsurprising, though disappointing nevertheless.

Re: Barrow v Lincoln City match thread
The Lincoln supporters who criticise Barrow need to accept that they have not been good enough on several occasions to beat us.DocsStepover wrote:Can only comment from watching on the TV but I thoroughly enjoyed the game even though it wasn't one for the purist who would want to see slick passing and mazy dribbling. That said, you play the hand and the conditions you are dealt and the pitch isn't exactly conducive to that style with it cutting up right from the kick off. I thought we bossed it for 75-80 mins and were not really given the credit for doing so by a very heavily Lincoln-biased BT Sport.
I would echo everyone on here who said they would struggle to pick a man of the match and it could easily have gone to anyone in white but for me Akil Wright was fantastic, he broke things up, got box to box and was a constant pest in midfield, not allowing them to settle.
To read that Lincoln fans are criticising the way we play ... they only had, or looked for the ball up to Rhead and then fed of the scraps from that. As much long ball as us! A tad hypocritical I fancy!
I also agree with the need to add some more numbers not just depth to the squad - they can't play with that kind of intensity game in game out without being able to give some lads a breather.
I think we have the block over Lincoln and Danny Cowley whom I like after giving him stick when mànaging Braintree he just turned round and had a laugh with me,that's what football is about.
Yep we do need improvements in ground and players,so forget the fact we have a millionaire.
I bet you have spent more money on players and wages than we have.
I would like to see a better style of football but you play to your abilities and as you have conceded five and only scored one reflects how good you are.
I've seen Barrow play Watford in our league days and Altrincham in there heyday. Both two we overun them in the first half it was0-0 at half time only to get beat 4-0 each time.
So we play to our strengths.
Bit like you when played us in the FA cup years ago.We had one Bobby Svarc on loan from you but you recalled him and he played against us a very good player.
He scored the winning goal with his hand which stood so less of the criticism of us.
