Yeah I had already read that and the ones I chatted with there pretty much echoed the majority of comments on their forumboyliegladbach wrote:His own fans don't really agree with himSi_Nichols wrote:

Players wages minimal, Travel around the same maybe less, off field staff the same, training the same we are already full time. Change in income from the FL compared to the NL massive.Stephen Leonard wrote:I guess i must be missing the obvious then.DIXIE wrote: I would say the additional income would more than cover costs. Being better off in the Football League is obvious.
Why except for maybe a slight increase in our playing staff wage bill, would it cost more to run the Football Club. It is impossible to tell, am i missing something? financially we would obviously be better off inside the FL.
My view is that to survive and progress in the football league will take more expenditure on the ground, playing staff, off field staff, general infrastructure, travel, training etc - Yes there will be additional income from TV deals and a probable short term increase in crowds (unless progress upwards is maintained) but I don't think this would last forever.
I would imagine before the promotion from National League North the last 2 times people would have said that financially we would be better off in the National League as there is more crowds, more sponsorship etc. The facts have proved that assumption wrong both times.
If the club was set up to exploit all the opportunities for increased revenue that might come from promotion then in the short term it might be ok - but I think that is the major problem I foresee - the club is not ready off the pitch for promotion (the same as it wasnt in 2009).
All about opinions though isnt it.

Ok - I've obviously got it all wrong - seems it's much simpler than I thought to run a football club based on your 'facts'DIXIE wrote:Players wages minimal, Travel around the same maybe less, off field staff the same, training the same we are already full time. It's was an enjoyable day out, and we were beaten by the form team so no complaints.dave mufc wrote:Firstly as a Maidstone fan i would like to say well done to your supporters who made the trip. Then would like to say sorry to the few who seemed to be getting regular aggro from our stewards.Speaking with some of your fans we need to learn a lesson and quickly. Also one your female fans had a fall hope she is ok and not badly hurt.Good luck for rest of season
Thank you..Angela is on this forum and somehow managed to drive home..will take more than a fall to stop her, she's in Worthing so not quite the trek on Saturday but goes everywhere.dave mufc wrote:Firstly as a Maidstone fan i would like to say well done to your supporters who made the trip. Then would like to say sorry to the few who seemed to be getting regular aggro from our stewards.Speaking with some of your fans we need to learn a lesson and quickly. Also one your female fans had a fall hope she is ok and not badly hurt.Good luck for rest of season

Stephen i am just saying that there will be no dramatic increase in our costs, or are you saying that i am missing something ?Stephen Leonard wrote:Ok - I've obviously got it all wrong - seems it's much simpler than I thought to run a football club based on your 'facts'DIXIE wrote: Players wages minimal, Travel around the same maybe less, off field staff the same, training the same we are already full time. I'll bow out of the debate before I embarrass myself more with incorrect ideas
