I said pre season Gomis was going to be our star player. I'm right so far. My only worry is because of the way he plays, his energy, commitment and he does"nt know when a ball is lost, he will pick up a few bookings. But I love watching him. He would tackle a cloud if told to !
Totally agree Graham, looks a fantastic signing and as you say, never knows when a ball is lost....or would be to most!

We absolutely cannot let players like him go if the owner has any REAL ambition for our club.
Would also like to mention mention Jack Barthram
He was brilliant. Allowed to attack and be a wing back. He even popped up on the left to score a very good goal. He never crossed the half way line under Coxy. What a smashing day.

Agreed. Shows what we can do when we have our best team available and a better style. Hope we continue this exciting, attractive, free flowing football. Most of all, continue running their bits off! Brilliant stuff.

The support today and the applause at the final whistle will let the new players know what Barrow is all about and what to expect when they battle against the odds and give it 110%

First time I've seen the team this season and they impressed me. Thought Dunne and Gomis were outstanding but nobody let us down although if Harvey had managed to stayed on i feel we would have won by 2 or 3 clear goals. Good to see Moore not letting his mistake get the better of him and performed well in 2nd half - hope his neck injury is OK.

That's clearly not true. I remember him having 2 chances at the far post in the game against Halifax. Today I thought he was immense playing wing back, right back and then right midfield when Dunne swapped fullback position and Jones returned to left back. I'd have preferred Moore to wear a cap in that low sun although he snaffled everything bar one mistake (with his back to the sun) and must be a doubt for next Sat as he needed attention through the second half after the first half horror landing. I was pleased with the guts and application today.

Spot on. It was as if we had won the league and not a league game. It was amazing and missed by so many. Oh well.

I was very confident Gomis would be good, Graham, after seeing him play at Sutton against Barrow. Although we drew the match Gomis and Stearn gave us a bit of a chasing down the right flank and Jordan Williams couldn't track him leaving Anderton against the 2 of them for a lot of the match. Just watching the match highlights and the Fylde match on TV tells me that Barthram is much better going forward than defending. Playing 3 at the back is perfect for him. Spot on with your other post as well. It's a good performance but it needs to be backed up. Next week at Tranmere will tell us a lot about prospects for the season. They are well down but are in a false position. I assume Harvey will be out for 3 matches and we aren't strong for replacements in the midfield area. I just hope none of the other players who got knocks today aren't unfit for the Tranmere game.
