Ian Evatt
Re: Ian Evatt
Quote from Evo doing the Twitter rounds-
“When you speak to some managers, they say: ‘We’d love to play how you play, but haven’t got the players.’
"Hang on, your budget is three times mine - if you want to play, recruit footballers. Then coach them. Teach them. Improve them."
This fella has changed how football and mindset is approached at this level. Little old Barrow eh.

"To achieve anything and to get to the Football League, we have to expect to win every game. I've got to get everyone believing that we can, and I will work hard to embed that mentality into the players, the town, the board and whoever else” Ian Evatt.

Re: Ian Evatt
It's a disgrace. Not one ball in the ressy, no centre back up front for the last 5 and too much use of the midfield. What next? A decent bovril at holker street?
We hate Carlisle United, we hate Workington too (and Morecambe), we hate Accrington Stanley but Barrow we love you

Re: Ian Evatt
That job at that level is a job I don’t believe he’d turn down.
He’d not get offered at this stage of his development anything better for his career, family, location and his financial situation.

We didn't underestimate them, we just didn't think they were that good.

Re: Ian Evatt
Worst thing that COULD happen
Blackpool name interim tempory manager until the end of the season ,
If this happens Imo that COULD see Ian evatt as their manager for next season.
Best case scenario for us Blackpool appoint a manager asap and Ian evatt stays with us into next season carrying on his superb work so far ..
Always a bluebird..

One even worse scenario for us would be for Blackpool to name IE as their permanent manager now!Bluebirdstwo wrote: ↑Wed Feb 12, 2020 4:57 pm Worst thing that COULD happen

Re: Ian Evatt
Depends if they are willing to pay out a contract or not. A look on their forum suggests a number of potential candidates are out of a job and have done well at that level in the past.
Popular side since '03.

Re: Ian Evatt
I agree. If they offer him the job I'd be amazed if he refused. If they want him, the only hope is that they've already spoken to him and he's asked them to appoint an interim manager until the end of the season and let him start next season. After all, they should be just about clear of relegation worries and no chance and have no chance of making the playoffs.spirit of 1990 wrote: ↑Wed Feb 12, 2020 4:47 pm That job at that level is a job I don’t believe he’d turn down.

Re: Ian Evatt
Appparently the Blackpool CEO was CEO at Barnsley when Paul Heckinbottom was manager so I guess that's why he's the current favourite for the job.
The consensus on the Blackpool forum (much to my surprise) is that Evatt is too inexperienced and that a decent season in the National League means nothing. Many of them want an interim (Warnock) until the end of the season followed by Evatt next season. One of them posted the following "No way watched Barrow play a few weeks ago. Hoof football with Evo having a tantrum in the dug out. It's part time football level up from Sunday league."!!!!!!
