Should have won the game easier and Cooper won’t be happy we conceded two goals against a poor side like that. Looked every bit a non league side playing above their level and trying to cheat a win. Don’t think we’ve hit our stride yet but we are improving every game. We’ll be a hard team to beat and should be a more comfortable season. Didn’t see any trouble after the game, just them sulking off with no points again.
It’s a tradition for them innit, dressed up for the last game of the season, nothing embarrassing unless you’ve had a very sheltered life. They went to Ulverston first, then the railway, pumping money into our local economy.

My mate followed and the same with him? Great game and atmosphere. Really shows how far we’ve come in the last 5-6 years!
Clicks on the turnstile presumably?

Mine came up red when scanned which should mean no entry but the fella just said it will be fine in you go.
Not sure if season ticket holders are included in the crowd number whether they turn anyway or not these days?

I would think that season tickets are counted automatically irrespective of wether they attend or not. The ticket sales totalled up in the main office would then I imagine be added on. I think the scanning just verifies you have a paid for ticket its not counting numbers admitted.

The scanners count the actual number of attendees and can be analysed into which gate they entered . Its an efl ruling that have to have electronic counting. No more stubs etc. That's the reason you can't have cash turnstiles. The club will know how many and who, on the season ticket list, have attended . How else do you think they can priorities season ticket holders to have first options on tickets?

That doesn’t answer the question of that the scanner hasn’t accepted the scan on the season ticket? Yet still being allowed into the ground?

That's down to the person doing the scanning, and in my opinion is totally wrong and concerning. Did he make that decision off his own initiative, or contact a supervisor ?

You’ve lived a sheltered life if dressing like [SwearFilter] is your idea of fun. Should be sponsored by Smithys. Their tradition is to lose football matches at Holker St.

I can understand the young lad doing this as the pressure was on him with people queueing outside and at the end of the day it was the scanner not doing the job. Worrying perhaps but not the kids fault and failure on the scanners part!

You can't have cash turnstiles but you can still have ticket booths selling tickets for cash on match day. Carlisle have three booths around the ground doing that. Fanzone would be ideal for that IMO. As a season ticket holder you will always get priority for a ticket for big cup games irrespective of how many games you attend. You can buy a season ticket and not attend at all but you will still get that priority for cup games.

Absolutely agree 100%. And agree that fan zone ticket shed would be the ideal place..But the board of directors have deemed they don't want that. I know that in certain instances others are using debit cards to help individuals , and taking their cash.
We were talking about attendees and counting of season ticket attendees... but yes ST holders will always get prioritised for cup tickets irrespective of their attendance

Not sure if it’s feasible but approaching the Rugby to split the cost of a town centre shop might benefit both clubs. We need some kind of presence in the town. A shop, a market stall, someone with a paste table selling tickets. Just something.

Our own ferals were making embarrassments of themselves on Holker Street and Chatsworth Street post-match.
Hopefully our lads will learn not to rise to the goading and aggression and remain vocal. Most away supports are sound. Not sure why their lot ended up on Chatsworth St and at the Tally when they should have got straight on the bus.

Agreed, I’m a season ticket holder and didn’t go to a single match last season and I haven’t been this season because it doesn’t feel safe to do so. I might just pluck up enough courage to go to the Exeter game. I usually stand on the open part of the Popside towards the Steelworks End. :scarf: :scarf: :scarf:
I too was apprehensive about going back to the footie free lockdown and I too stand in the popular side near steelworks end. I honestly think you will be fine as I found plenty of space and distance to feel “comfortable” in this environment. You should find enough space to be able to give yourself some distance between you and other fans. I am sure you’ll be fine and safe. Best of luck, hope you get back to Holker Street soon.
