Re: Lillis,Kay and Gordon
I’m not worried, Comings & going happen every season but this time we have a Manager & back room staff who know what they are doing & want success, Yes we have lost 2 out of contract lads to a higher league, That shows any up & coming lads that we are a club who can make you better so lots will want to join us & Pete will be busy behind the scenes & going forward with a DoF we shouldn’t let many run their contracts down in the future, So all is well in my book.

You could have and should have challenged yourself and applied yourself that little bit harder sunshine!
Pis SES me right off that the dregs who get a second chance with us are happy to "use" us, do ok and think they are better than us. No mate, you were pretty average at best, you were pish poor before you landed with us, you got given an opportunity, you did "ok" you are not that good... Ask cowps about scoring goals... Learn something about passion, pride and committment and then and only then... Challenge yourself! Jeez man.. I know football is fickle but come on!!!!

Re: Lillis,Kay and Gordon
Josh was a relative failure at Walsall and also under Cooper. 12 months ago his departure would have been met with a tame shrug.
We’ve learned that developed in the right environment and played in the right position he can thrive. That is not likely to change at Burton. So I hope he understands what challenging himself might mean.
He’s had one decent season and now he’s going for it. Good luck to him. Will it work? I have my doubts. But you can’t blame the lad for trying.

Re: Lillis,Kay and Gordon
It’s no surprise is it….what’s he got to lose? He’ll be on more money, playing nearer his home & at a higher level. If it doesn’t work out for him he’ll be loaned out and his wage won’t be affected. It’s disappointing but it’s what happens in football.
We didn't underestimate them, we just didn't think they were that good.
Re: Lillis,Kay and Gordon
Uncalled for, olbarrafancumbak!
His effort and attitude with us were first class and he was a pest to opposition defences. Left relatively unsupported up front, his goals in a low-scoring team during the season recently ended were a good achievement.
Who would not jump at the chance to advance themselves at work in a more prestigious environment and be paid handsomely more to do so?

If the rumours about the January tap-ups are true he at least never “protected” himself from possible injuries but gave 109% till the end of the season. Goes with my best wishes.

Yes, he should’ve stayed in League 2, turned down his pay rise from Burton, and never leave because we “gave him an opportunity”…olbarrafancumbak wrote: ↑Wed Jun 21, 2023 8:05 pmWant to challenge myself was his words!Broughton Fan wrote: ↑Tue Jun 20, 2023 12:18 pm Josh Gordon off to Burton to link up with Cole stockton
