That’s three good performances, and three opposition managers who thought they were the better team. Do they believe that nonsense, or is it something they have to say to try and convince themselves?

Managers will rarely admit to being outplayed as it reflects on them personally. Cast your mind back to Barrow/Carlisle last season and the slap stick comments afterwards for example. They will admit inferiority when outplayed by a team from a higher league of course as this does not come with any kind of personal stigma.

Some manager’s think passing the ball side to side in their own half is controlling a game. You could argue that’s the opposition controlling the game and keeping them planted in their own half. Wild knows when he wants us to press and when to let them have it.
