There was 2 things I wanted

1 to see us score (sadly never happened)
2 to see the team give it their all and they did that!

I spoke to Jason Cundy outside the ground as I was heading back to my hotel and he said that he was extremely nervous with the way the game started.

We lost simply because they were on a completely different planet to us.

Beaten but by god not distraught

I think everyone involved with the club can hold their heads high after that last night. Even at 4 0 down the team still kept playing the way they always do. The support was brilliant and never stopped singing for the whole game.
It was always going to be a massive ask to get anything from a team worth over £ 400 million and so it proved, but we just put the whole fantastic experience behind us now and look forward to Gillingham on Saturday with a few more pounds in the club coffers.
As Big E pointed out elsewhere, 5 years ago we were winning 3 1 at Chorley, we have come a long way since then.

I was at that Chorley game. Before Pedro pops up and tells us I’ll get in first. Quigley scored. If only we’d had him last night😁

Even worse, I was at the Chorley cup game when we lost 3-2 after being 2-0 up. I think they were a league below us? No idea who scored!

How much will we receive from Sky from last nights game?

38,000 attendance, so how much from the gate?

I don’t think we get anything from Sky as the Carabo cup was part of the new five year tv deal that began this. Season but an employee of the club said on North west tonight that the game was worth three hundred thousand pounds to the club

About 420k by my maths on £27 a ticket and 40% cut going to us? Huge for the club especially after last season.

On the night and you wonder with Canavan, Eccleston starting would we be slightly stronger but they were and are on another level. Was always going to be a tough night against a team of internationals. Their speed, sharpness, fitness, skill and movement and their money. They never relented either. Could have been worse but for Farman but we also threw a couple away in the second half, mistakes that in league 2 you’d probably get away with. First two goals at our level don’t happen, the third was just unlucky.

Nice to see us get this far and beating Derby was a big achievement. Money made to go back into the club and now onto Gillingham with a good experience and lesson for the players, and a good day out for fans despite the result.

After reflection and a few hours kip once we got home 🤣 got to say I enjoyed the experience of going to a new premiership ground with Barrow esp a team the size of Chelsea. Seen a few posts mocking the score, Chelsea reserves etc but look at that team they put out £600m ? Fair few internationals too so there's no shame in defeat plus we had almost 2500 fans travel on a Tuesday night to London for the match 👏 My only gripe was it could have been so close, we had a few half chances, foul on keeper (I think) and ball goes in net then 1st goal conceded Feeley miles behind the rest of our defence, 2nd goal good finish, 3rd goal good free kick but hits Farman to go in, 4th goal Stokes hesitates to header, 5th goal Farman doesn't clear it when he had time but against players Chelsea had out they will punish you and they did. Would rather that happened last night than at Gillingham or Doncaster which are now 2 massive away games in a row for us 🙏

A lapse in concentration by Rory led to their 1st goal but if Emile had put a very good chance away straight after.........who knows!! Two massive games coming up.

You just cannot blame anyone for the first goal. It was a sublime piece of skill. So difficult to execute and made to look so simple you wonder why we didn’t prevent it.

I think it was Felix that from a virtual standing position put his toe under the ball and lobs it over the masses ranks in front of him. Nkunku anticipates and turns his defender perfectly so as not to be offside and the ball meets his run before Farman can reach it. At League 2 level that is a 1% success rate. Clemence would probably give his players a bollocking for just trying it. Here it just looked like an every day training ground move. And it was virtually their first shot at goal.

Are you perhaps thinking of their fourth goal?

Great night not been to Stamford Bridge for years can see why Chelsea want to move to a new ground as they can't expand it in the place they are in. Just really like to thank the Trust for all they did. Hope everyone on coach 7 in particular got home safely after we were dropped off at Knutsford (then had to endure roadworks/re-routing everywhere trying to get home - typical). Thought we did well in the second half playing our way a little more but Chelsea, love them or hate them, are a fine side who I think might challenge right at the top this season. Lets hope Barrow do the same in League 2.
