not so sure about that. He would have had to have changed his style as well, which was very recognisable.bluessupporter wrote: ↑Sun Jan 25, 2026 11:10 amHe might have re-registered under another name. Quite a few seem to have done that lately.

Re: Barrow v Crawley Town, match thread
Just forced myself to watch the highlights disallowed goal Rose is offside when it's played back he's directly infront of their keeper doesn't touch it but the referee was directly behind it all ,whether we like it or not according to the rules most referees will disallow these goals, I would have been mad if Crawley had scored one like that.
Their goal ,Rose wasn't fouled, then Anderson showed his inexperience by diving in when there was no need to ,but then Raglan inexplicably doesn't try to close the man down this has happened too many times this season our defender's back off too much, most goals we concede can be avoided, it's basic defending no wonder we can't keep clean sheets!

Completely agree about backing off - they've done it all season. It's plain for all to see, apart it seems from the coaching staff both under Gallagher and his predecessor. The opposition see this as well and take advantage.
Sort that out and you will have more chance of getting some points!

Just watched our disallowed goal again and as I thought on first viewing it's the ref that has made the decision not the linesman.blue nige wrote: ↑Sun Jan 25, 2026 11:47 am Just forced myself to watch the highlights disallowed goal Rose is offside when it's played back he's directly infront of their keeper doesn't touch it but the referee was directly behind it all ,whether we like it or not according to the rules most referees will disallow these goals, I would have been mad if Crawley had scored one like that.

VAR would have had to draw the lines to see if Rose was offside so in real time the linesman couldn't be certain and didn't flag. How can the ref make that decision when he's not in line.
Once again we have been let down by the officials.

I froze the picture as the ball is about to be kicked Rose is definitely offside the line on the penalty area clearly shows this !farington blue wrote: ↑Sun Jan 25, 2026 12:46 pmJust watched our disallowed goal again and as I thought on first viewing it's the ref that has made the decision not the linesman.blue nige wrote: ↑Sun Jan 25, 2026 11:47 am Just forced myself to watch the highlights disallowed goal Rose is offside when it's played back he's directly infront of their keeper doesn't touch it but the referee was directly behind it all ,whether we like it or not according to the rules most referees will disallow these goals, I would have been mad if Crawley had scored one like that.

Wild sacked by Fleetwood.
How long will Gallagher last do we think?

You may be right Nige but my point is that the decision was made by the ref and not the linesmanblue nige wrote: ↑Sun Jan 25, 2026 1:52 pmI froze the picture as the ball is about to be kicked Rose is definitely offside the line on the penalty area clearly shows this !farington blue wrote: ↑Sun Jan 25, 2026 12:46 pm

Re: Barrow v Crawley Town, match thread
Yeah I get that but the referee had a clear view and he’s made the decision that Rose was in the keepers view it's one of those decisions that either go your way or they don't!farington blue wrote: ↑Sun Jan 25, 2026 2:18 pmYou may be right Nige but my point is that the decision was made by the ref and not the linesman
Re: Barrow v Crawley Town, match thread
It was a harsh decision, Rose didn’t impede the keepers view of the first shot, nor of the second ball. Besides, look where the ref is, how could he possibly have seen Rose was offside. He was quick to make his decision without even consulting the linesman.blue nige wrote: ↑Sun Jan 25, 2026 11:47 am Just forced myself to watch the highlights disallowed goal Rose is offside when it's played back he's directly infront of their keeper doesn't touch it but the referee was directly behind it all ,whether we like it or not according to the rules most referees will disallow these goals, I would have been mad if Crawley had scored one like that.

"To achieve anything and to get to the Football League, we have to expect to win every game. I've got to get everyone believing that we can, and I will work hard to embed that mentality into the players, the town, the board and whoever else” Ian Evatt.
Re: Barrow v Crawley Town, match thread
Looked just about right if he was offside he was affecting the keeper that close to him hard to say otherwise. Crawley hit the post though don’t forget and Stanway made a great save and we didn’t do enough to bemoan bad luck. The winning goal was well taken but of our own making, it’s not bad luck and officials that have got us where we are, and admittedly some have been very poor, but it’s our own making and the same goes for getting out of it.

Re: Barrow v Crawley Town, match thread
Well in this case these things really did even themselves out over the season. We had outrageous good fortune at their place last September where we won 1-2. They hit the woodwork three times down there and missed a few sitters as l remember it. So it goes.
I thought they had one or two decent players and their goalscorer showed great skill to finish like he did, however their No.99 was rather flakey l fort.

We will foller the soccer, over land and sea...

Watch the goal again Jonty the referee was going to give it but he looks to the linesman for confirmation and he raised his flag don't forget they are all miked up and usually talk to each other!,Rose is definitely offside just move on and accept it ,bad defending cost us yesterday not the officials!Jonty wrote: ↑Sun Jan 25, 2026 2:46 pmIt was a harsh decision, Rose didn’t impede the keepers view of the first shot, nor of the second ball. Re: Barrow v Crawley Town, match thread
I guess we'll just agree to differ on this one.
I still think the ref has conned us out of a goal.
He was never giving the goal. If you watch it he points for offside then looks to the linesman who then raises his flag. This was at the point Fletcher was wheeling away.
I always thought the protocol was the ref raises his flag and then the ref gives offside
