Re: Tamworth v Barrow match thread
We had a short stint when we had Jack Mackreth and Dominic Rowe on the wings and Boyes and Cook up front iirc, some exciting stuff at times.Main Stand SeasonTct wrote: ↑Sun Oct 11, 2026 11:44 amIIRC not since the likes of Wheatley and Carroll during the Wilkie days have we played with two wingers in the same starting eleven like Allan and ThompsonScott5 wrote: ↑Sun Oct 11, 2026 11:37 am
The football yesterday may not have been the best match to watch but in Allan and Thompson we’ve two players with pace and who look to beat their man and get a cross or shot in, i cant remember us playing with two wingers like that for some and defenders hate it.

Also add Simon Wiles, Carlos Logan, Paul Brown, Paul Rutherford into that mix as well
We’ve had some good ones over the years

Many thanks Adam for posting your interviews with Adam Murray and Rekeem Harper so quickly.
I don,t suppose there is any chance of putting a link to the after match show so we can listen to it later like we used to do when it was on BBC Sounds.
A lot of us are walking to our cars or the bus and by the time we get there the show may have been on for a while and if you are at an away match you cannot listen .in the past I have been to an away match and am on my home on the bus I would listen to.the after match show on my phone rewinding it to the beginning.

There isn’t a link to it as it’s not available for listen again
And in all honesty there wasn’t much of a post match show because I didn’t have a voice due to a cold I’ve been struggling with - anyone who heard the commentary will know I was struggling through - hence the more toned down goal celebrations to usual.
I just about got through my interviews and then my voice went so threw to the pre recorded Carlisle analysis from earlier to get through the last 20mins of the show

I used to love Jack Mac's "unorthodox" technique when defending corners.

Re: Tamworth v Barrow match thread
One of the things which has really struck me this season is just how professional Adam and his co-commentators are, streets ahead of the other BBC local radio commentaries. This has been highlighted by the fact that DAZN use the local radio for their match commentary, so you really can hear the difference. And as others have said, whilst Adam is a passionate Barrow fan, with great celebrations, he is always fair to the other teams.
