Whoever it is we'll then have a rough idea of what lies ahead I just hope the guy is allowed to manage with a half decent budget (the plan about basing it on attendances etc.would be a disaster because it would mean certain relegation and i think the crowd's would plummet ) we allwant this to work because if it's starts badly I think we all know what will happen. and that's unfair on him and the players that are actually wanting to play for us

Seems to me we putting cart before the horse. To me new manager recruitment is priority early on so he can decide who he would like to recruit to the team in addition to the contracted players after liaison with Paul Ogden. The details of players two and three leagues below our level does not inspire a lot of confidence although I am sure they will do their best to compete. would like to hear that the objective is to consolidate and stay in this league above relegation group .Do not want to be involved in another relegation scrap.Cant base budget on attendances else we doomed to fail against big spenders in league unless investment from commercial side or elsewhere is involved.

I listened to RC last week Andy Wood was on the sports programme,he said he came for the last game.
He had always been in the press box and was amazed by the vocal support the team got.
He also said Casson would want a yes man, well he is making sure we are recruiting for failure and then saying to the Manager work with this.
Ady achieved the imposibble and was sent on his way.
Casson is showing his true colours, not interested failed to get relegated last season so trying to make certain this time
What decent Manager could operate under this cowboy

“With the guys currently on the books, you’re looking at 12 players right now. We’d look to have 16 or 17 in before the start of pre-season, so that’s only four or five to go"

What a ridiculous thing to say.

So he's counting the players deemed not good enough by Pennock (ie transfer listed) as players the new manager will have to have for pre-season? That's a great basis for a new manager - 3 new players he didn't sign and 7 transfer listed players who now magically make up the numbers.

This is starting to annoy me now.

If Ogden's new signings prove to be gems then we will be praising the initiative. If they don't and the manager doesn't fancy them then it will look foolish. At the moment, there isn't really much of a team to inherit. Manager will arrive soon and put his stamp on it. Best to hold firm and see how it unfurls. Ogden is an integral part of this team so whoever the manager is, he needs to get on with him. It's far too early to be doom and gloom, its the 1st of June.
Stood behind Ray Wilkie for years. Best education I ever had.

Why ridiculous?

The transfer-listed players are part of the numbers until they move on (bear in mind they might not). If someone does move on, a vacancy is created for someone else then to move in.

Surely you don't expect the club to double-staff the squad in the hope that all will work out?

No, I don't expect that. I expect the players who were not deemed good enough to be replaced and not for Casson to indicate they are part of the clubs future.

'Go out and enjoy the sunshine'.. What a weird lad you must be.

“It’s easy to think that we’re behind the eight ball because we have all these guys on the transfer list, but they’re still our players and we’re planning for life with them not without them

And this. Does that mean they are being taken off the transfer list or that some of them are so bad that no one will come in for them, so we're stuck with them?
