Re: Ian Evatt
Paul Heckingbottom is favourite with the bookies. Hope he gets it and good luck to him.
Blackpool are awful to watch at the moment. They’ve only got one good player.

Re: Ian Evatt
I don’t honestly think they would go for IE just yet - not enough experience, three quarters of a season at this level probably wouldn’t be enough to tempt them.
I still believe he would go if offered the job though, from first managerial job to Blackpool in 18 months...he’d be mad not to.

We didn't underestimate them, we just didn't think they were that good.

Well, he might be right about the tantrum ?russell_anderson wrote: ↑Wed Feb 12, 2020 5:53 pm Appparently the Blackpool CEO was CEO at Barnsley when Paul Heckinbottom was manager so I guess that's why he's the current favourite for the job.
The consensus on the Blackpool forum (much to my surprise) is that Evatt is too inexperienced and that a decent season in the National League means nothing. Many of them want an interim (Warnock) until the end of the season followed by Evatt next season. One of them posted the following "No way watched Barrow play a few weeks ago. Hoof football with Evo having a tantrum in the dug out. It's part time football level up from Sunday league."!!!!!!

I don't think he would go. Not until he's seen this out here.spirit of 1990 wrote: ↑Wed Feb 12, 2020 6:07 pmI don’t honestly think they would go for IE just yet - not enough experience, three quarters of a season at this level probably wouldn’t be enough to tempt them.

"To achieve anything and to get to the Football League, we have to expect to win every game. I've got to get everyone believing that we can, and I will work hard to embed that mentality into the players, the town, the board and whoever else” Ian Evatt.
Re: Ian Evatt
Not much point speculating is there? It won't make any difference to the eventual outcome. Que Sera.....

Re: Ian Evatt
This couldn't have come at a worse time for us , the players are bound to be speculating just like us and it needs Evo and the board to make a statement and hopefully draw a line under this.

BBC RC say he's staying with us

Re: Ian Evatt
It'd be the only thing they got right! They must play 5 yard triangles and make Barcelona's tikki takka look shit if they think we're playing hoofball. Sadly, I'd suggest the fact that this is being discussed means otherwise.blumooncrab wrote: ↑Wed Feb 12, 2020 6:29 pmWell, he might be right about the tantrum ?russell_anderson wrote: ↑Wed Feb 12, 2020 5:53 pm Appparently the Blackpool CEO was CEO at Barnsley when Paul Heckinbottom was manager so I guess that's why he's the current favourite for the job.

Ian Evatt won't be going this season, for various reasons already mentioned. Next season? Who knows?
We hate Carlisle United, we hate Workington too (and Morecambe), we hate Accrington Stanley but Barrow we love you

Evatt won't go until the end of the season the man is pure class. Maybe they will get a caretaker in and he will go in the summer.

Re: Ian Evatt
I think we have to remember that a lot of the game changing stuff he's done for us is the norm higher up the ladder too. I mean, clearly, the blokes pure class and has an unbelievable football brain, as you'd expect from an ex premier league player. A lot of what he's done here is groundbreaking to us, especially for a side that was part time not that long ago, and he's someone who is relatable and seems to be a real motivator of players and fans alike. At clubs like Blackpool, who have recent memories of premier league status, I imagine a lot of this will be everyday stuff and where Ian gained a lot of these methods and philosophies. I would think they'd need to see more than a good run of results to be convinced to offer a contract for decent money, not to mention the fee they'd owe us for his signature. A promotion with a small budget and squad, with a side that were never fancied, might be what they want to see though. Let's not forget, this is his first job in management and a side like Blackpool would be taking a risk this early in his career, however good we know he is.
TLDR: You don't want him Blackpool, he's rubbish, honest

Re: Ian Evatt
The guy on their forum who says we play hoof football & one up from Sunday league obviously hasn’t seen Barrow this season.
Glad we play in blue and white. Imagine watching us in that horrible tangerine.
